Getting Locked out in the Gravitar Fight because I load slow is: FUN!

hocofaisanhocofaisan Posts: 190 Arc User
Now I don't want to complain but:

Because I load slow, often I get locked out of the Gravitar fight because some people
either purposefully or ignorantly start the fight before I load into the instance.

The question I want to pose is why the same safeguard that have been put in place on the
other alerts (ie Cant' start for 1 minute and until all parties load in) has not been added to Gravitar?

Agreed. It's frustrating watching people get locked out. Please fix Cryptic.

There you go using the logic card. Shame on you. :P

In all honesty though - yes, that's how it should be programmed. Odd that it didn't end up this way.

Either that or make it work like Warlord - the shield doesn't pop up for a short while after you engage him (thus locking you out).

Oh, so that's what happened to me once, I thought it was a bug and didn't realize it was because I had loaded the instance too slow.
I hope they fix it, it seems pretty unfair with people with slower pc's

And unfair for the whole team, if they end up failing from having a seven or eight man team rather than the full ten.

I'm willing to accept lock-outs that easily provide a level of 'difficulty' into the game, but teammates (especially my healer!) getting locked out because they don't have the same access to a quicker connection as a more trigger-happy PUGmate doesn't give the lock-out a good rep.

    This deinately needs fixing.

After all we have more of these rampages coming down the track, we need to ensure they are well balanced and enjoyable and also reliable.

This post reminded me of a thread on MMORPG.com where a poster commented about a game where a game company banned players for their connection speed because of the impact on other players (this was a multiplayer FPS as I recall).

My question for the OP is, how slow do you load ?

Have they fixed Trainstopping yet so that ranged toons with 100' attacks can't kill mobs through the shield before time begins and therefore fail the mission because there aren't enough mobs left after killing the boss?

    That one's really annoying, too.

You don't have to be a "slow loader" for this to occur. I've had this happen twice, and I was waiting on Q to find an instance for me, timer running down after hitting ready and all that jazz.

I get they wanted to prevent relogs from bypassing the lockout, I just wish they didn't have to break it to fix it.

I wonder how hard would be for them to add a shield to prevent them to enter the area, until everybody is logged on. Just as the start of a common alert :/

Originally you loaded inside the battle bubble. But the relog exploit let you get back into the fight after you hit recover. They changed it so that you load in the time out bubble first so if you try to relog you would reload in time out instead. As a result we get this wonky last minute fix.

Better to hastily bring out a "fix" riddled with bugs that nerfs the players than take the time to do it right and let players abuse it for a tiny while.

Yeah this issue kinda blows. Oh well, gravitar is getting too easy anyway.

Okay here's my idea for how to fix this issue: blah blah blah, blah blah, cryptic isn't reading this.
