While I'm on the "Red Probation of Forum Posting Doom" since creating a new account, I've been poking around and looking for heavy RP groups that won't mind taking in someone new to the game (definitely not new to role playing, but to the game.)
Are the Blackwatch Defenders an active group? (meaning will there be more then 1 person at a time online for me to interact with?)
And do you guys have any mechanical non-RP requirements (Does your character need to be a certain level or have detailed knowledge of the worlds territories?)
Hopefully you guys are still accepting, I'd be more then willing to put in the effort for your application process

I'm really considering it. I do have a question though. The character I'm considering has his origins as a fan character for another game. I have since moved him on to bigger and better things, but I didn't want to completely get rid of that aspect of him. As it stands in-game, he's kinda got a Cable thing going on (man out of time) and has skills and a costume that calls very heavily back to the game he's originally from. I don't make a habit of referencing his alternate universe very often, but the aspect of it is still present. Would that in any way affect whether or not he would be accepted?

The BWD does try to hug the Champions cannon and show it a lot of love [as the resident lore monkey, that's my jerb].
But a lot of 'handwavium' an be done as long as you don't feel the need to explicitly mention the home universe by name.
Lemme give you an example;
One of our players has a transformer, we knows its a transformer and he admits it. However in character he's a 'Mechanist', an alien robot from a dark corner of the galaxy where an all robot homeland lies, with ancient war and all that..
In character he's here chasing a renegade terrorist from back home and join to get help with his nemesis and help us with ours.
His race's background has a vague connection to Mechanon lore and his existence makes no major waves in CO lore.
Another player is clearly playing a Captain Marvel [the woman] with the serial numbers filed off and fit into the CO lore. Over time she's developed into someone quite different from the origin point.

In short, yes it's possible and there's every change we'd help you make it fit into the CO lore better.
Of course there's always the "I'm from an alternate universe" option too, but mussing up the names to protect the guilty.

Ah, well that's something I can do. In character he doesn't mention where/when he's from because he knows he'll sound like a nutjob, and instead does a lot of freelance work with the MCPD and PRIMUS/UNTIL.

A friendly bump for a fun SG that I have interacted with in the past and have shown a nice unique flare to the usual SG formula. Would recommend for people to check out as well.
We have recently spent some time re-alighning the supergroup and after being out a few weekes due to health issues, I am leader the group in building up our activity once more and relaunching our weekly RP Vile Villain Vednesdays.
