Is there a way to adjust the Xbox gamepad to make one button a rapid fire button? Would really like to spare my gamepad from continuous mashing for certain powers. Thanks!

Also, what is the correct input name for the dpad button? It's not used at the moment and I would like to add assist to it.

Assist isn't a command that can be hot toggled, it has no associated text command. It's only controlled in the Options Menu as far as I am aware.

The Joypad use is already set up as a series of chorded commands anyhow, Right + joypad and face buttons controls Devices, Left Joypad + Face buttons controls Primary items that have powers attacked <which isn't often>, Joypad Up is the interact key, and I think Joypad down + face buttons changes builds, which happens by accident far too often when I try to use a device in battle, unequipping all my gear.

Here is the standard 360 controller config. Controls in parentheses are the keyboard controls for the same command.

    Target next: RB
    Target prev: LTrigger+RB
    Toggle hostile/friendly targetting mode: RTrigger+RB
    Clear target: LB+RB

    Jump/Fly Up: AB
    Fly Down: RTrigger+AB

    Power 1 (End Builder): XB
    Power 2: YB
    Power 3: BB
    Power 4: LTrigger+XB
    Power 5: LTrigger+YB
    Power 6: LTrigger+BB
    Power 7: LTrigger+AB
    Power 8 (Alt+1): LB+XB
    Power 9 (Alt+2): LB+YB
    Power 10 (Alt+3): LB+BB
    Power 11 (Alt+4): LB+AB
    Power 12 (Alt+5): RTrigger+XB
    Power 13 (Alt+6): RTrigger+YB
    Power 14 (Alt+7): RTrigger+BB

Travel Power (T): LStick, and LTrigger+LStick
    Travel Power (Alt-T): RTrigger+LStick, and LB+LStick

Block: RTrigger+LTrigger [I use a bind for this, will list it on the bottom of the post]

    Device 1 (Ctrl+1): Joypad_Right+XB
    Device 2 (Ctrl+2): Joypad_Right+YB
    Device 3 (Ctrl+3): Joypad_Right+BB
    Device 4 (Ctrl+4): Joypad_Right+AB
    Device 5 (Ctrl+5): Joypad_Right+RB

    Primary Offense: Joypad_Left+XB
    Primary Defense: Joypad_Left+YB
    Primary Utility: Joypad_Left+BB

    Build 1: Joypad_Down+XB
    Build 2: Joypad_Down+YB
    Build 3: Joypad_Down+BB
    Build 4: Joypad_Down+AB
    Build 5: Joypad_Down+RB
    Build 6: Joypad_Down+LB

    Interact: Joypad_Up

    Struggle When Held: LStick

Open main menu (on the minimap): Start

    Open the chat menu: Select

    Manual targeting: LB+RStick

    Cycle Camera Distance: RStick

    My block bind

    /bind Joy8 +powertrayexec 16

[This makes it so you can block with only the right trigger, as well as both triggers together.]

You can lessen it but turning the choosing the option to change the energy builder as a maintain (keeps firing as long as you hold it) or auto turn on/off. otherwise there is no real way to do that. I suspect however, that the energy builder is your main concern, so that should be it. I can't imagine spamming so much otherwise that it would cause concern unless you're healing. You would just run out of energy for it to be plausable.

It was actually for Laser Sword which would be painful to tap forever as main attack.

P.S. What is the input for the dpad button???? Joypad_?????

    Yes.

    Joypad_up
    Joypad_right
    Joypad_down
    Joypad_left

As noted in my previous post, currently all but Joypad_up [which is Interact by default] are tied up in use as chorded commands with the face buttons.

Joypad_right and face buttons are devices, down is builds, and left is Worn gear that also uses a power effect. [Which there are damn few of, and none in the new modded gear that I am aware of, only old legacy gear.]
