G'day all,
I'm about to give Champions a go. It isn't technically for the first time I have played, but I haven't been on for more than 30 mins total. It's not that I didn't like the game, it's just that I find the hardest part of an MMO to be finding my spot in the community.
STO was my first go at an MMO. I have been in there since beta and genuinely love the game. I know a large group of players over there dislike most of what Cryptic does, but I kinda like the direction and improvements they have made.
The thing that is making me look at other games is the community. Many seem so cranky about anything that Cryptic does. I don't begrudge them their opinions, STO was my first proper MMO after all. I may just not know where it sits in the spectrum of the genre.
I will never ditch STO, that is for sure. I just thought I'd see if I could compliment it with something new.
So you made it this far in a rant from a newb! Anyone out there got some advice for starting out in Champs? What should I keep in mind? Anyone around to show a late-20s Aussie nerd the ropes?

Welcome to the Community, and Champions online.
Don't let the current round of doom 'n gloom bother you. We haven't really seen how it's all going to shake out yet. Previously, I'd say we have one of the fnest player communities I've ever seen, but lately even a bunch of great people have given into fear.

OP, welcome aboard. I am one of those angry people that Rune mentioned, but CO has a lot going for it and I think you will find that the community is very good (one of the best Ive ever interacted with) as a whole.
The key thing to remember is to just have fun.
