Hero Games: Level 40 Blue and Purple rewards have been revamped. Old level 40 Primary and Secondary upgrades are no longer available, but have been replaced with many more varieties for all slots, with a wider variety of stat distributions. In addition, all of these new Primary and Secondary upgrades are Bind on Equip, and the prices for the Purple versions have been lowered considerably.
Hero Games: The costume unlocks granted by the old Level 40 Primary/Secondary upgrades have been moved onto separate items which are just the costume unlocks. These Costume Unlocks are still Bind on Pickup, and are sold by Dominque Ducard.
Hero Games: The Purple items from the Hero Games Power Replace vendor have all had their prices lowered considerably. In addition, all of these items are now Bind on Equip, instead of Bind on Pickup.
Known Issues (Please write in red text when submitting bugs to this thread so issues are easier to find.):
Ah, the costume unlocks have been separated. Interesting, though since you can just buy most of them in the C store, they're no longer as special as they used to be (not that I've ever seen anyone actually using them).
I'm looking at the gear right now, looks good but but split purple primaries with +50/+50 stat points is too low, since SL split primaries exist in all those same configurations, but they give +54/+54 instead of +50/+50. And also there are single stat purple secondaries with only +27, this must be a mistake since single stat SL blue secondaries are +36.
That generally has a 24-hour duration, or when the rum's out of my system. Sorry.

OT. I think I'm looking forward to this patch in a way that I haven't in a while, but I may be wrong considering I recently got a bubble helm and a jetpack. Either way, things are certainly getting exciting! ... and, now Iso makes me go check it out personally hehe
Seems like this new PvP gear will work well for the more popular stat combinations. None of it will be replacing gear on my INT/PRE super statted toon but this is about all I could expect as a short term fix for PvP gear.
Long term: I'd like to see the ability to "craft" the gear we want using the appropriate tokens/acclaim. Each token/acclaim type could even have unique prefixes in addition to the standard prefixes currently in game.
Still think most of the stuff is too expensive, for a few more points and less randomness it will take a LOT more time just to get the gear compared to simply a few minutes in an adventure pack on elite. ESPECIALLY considering how much harder it is to get points in pvp compaired to pve difficulty. Love the gear and such though I did sorta hope for more 'non stat' based gear. I'd kill for a def primary dodge item for example.
That said I'll be fine with the current cost on stuff, just I dont think this is going to pull many people into pvp and pve gear will still reign supreme. But atleast its not unity or nem con gear now.
Okay I'm just rambling now... delerious from lack of food....
Point is, time invested + difficulty = pve gear still being better bang for buck but pvp gear is a LOT better now.

BUG: Some of the Purple PvP single-stat secondaries are +36 (Con, Pre, Str, Dex, Rec), while some are only +27 (Ego, Int, End).
BUG: Some of the Blue PvP single-stat secondaries are +24 (Con, Pre, Str, Dex, Rec) while some are +28 (Ego, Int, End).
1) It's still too expensive. I have toons that level up mostly in PvP at all kinds of levels. None of them could gear up entirely. The only toon I have that could gear up on acclaim stuffs is Lady E, and she's spent almost a year gathering acclaim. Conversely, I could spend one night in Serpent's Lantern and have better gear.
2) From a saving yourself lots of unnecessary work standpoint, don't bother with 4 stats on any gear. The odds you'll hit 4 stats that a significant number of PvP players want are just too low. Players who want 4 stats can pull it off using nothing but 1 and 2 stat items. You can stick some 3 stats items in, but I'd limit those to mostly +INT and +CON on the third stat (easily the two most popular PvP stats).
3) Also from a saving yourself work standpoint. Stick the elite scaled algo formula into an Excel spreadsheet and have it calculate all the blue gear for you. Then add a couple extra points to that formula for purples. Turn around and have it also calculate down to create the lower level gear using more maths. When you get all the stuff you want done, just have it export comma or tab delimited (depending on the database y'all use). The only part that might take a bit of time is coming up with names and descriptions. You can use the same spreadsheet to then turn around and create nemesis and unity gear.
4) As has been mentioned by a few people, PvP'ers want dodge and perception gear.
5) Did I mention costs are still way high? Y'all have the formula for how the game awards acclaim. Use that to figure out what costs should be instead of trying to pull arbitrary numbers from the air. 200,000 represents a ton of time for a single piece of gear. Even with all the time I've spent in PvP, and even adding all the acclaim from all my toons, I'd only be able to outfit a handful of my alts.

I just read the entire purple catalog and did notice a surprising lack of INT/PRE.
INT/PRE is quite a common combination, and it's among the harder combinations to gear, so more of it would be welcome.
A LOT of the quad gear has just 10 points of dex or ego, and those are simply not tertiary stats. Builds almost always take a ton of dex or ego, or none if possible. The inclusion of the dex or ego simply means the quad gear is of no use to anybody. Just don't bother to include quad gear with dex or ego unless it is together.
The quad primaries always include both STR and DEX, which again is not useful to a supporter or non-melee. Considering how strong melee is considered now, why not include primary offenses that are suitable for other builds?
Hey, Xavori, any progress on that build I was inquiring about? I might have to actually spend time PvP'ng if one dedicated combatant can now feed stuff out to other toons (BoE - a reason to play this game again!)
Lot of good news in this patch - like some of the insanity/idiocy of a certain mired in how they did it in WoW developer is finally being ejected.

Thanks . I just looked over the gear and there are several pieces I would pursue. I'm gonna contradict you slightly - I think the 4 stat pieces have a place. I try to get my super-stats to about 220, and then diversify into support stats... Basically I try to not pick fights with dimishing returns. There were one or two 4-stat peices that were absolutely brilliant for my purposes. While maybe not ideal for PvP, the transition to BoE means PvP can now feed other activities, and I see it as attracting me, a fairly studious non-PvP'r to that loot table. So it may be of more benefit to your enjoyment than you might think .
I hope this means Unity and Nemesis purples might get a review, because these purple blow those DIRECTLY out of the water in many cases split stats secondaries of 16/12 do not compete with 20/20. Sorry. Clearly a whole new scale at work here. These PvP purples even leave the "apocalyptic" series choking on dust.
I'd really, REALLY love to see purchased purples (somewhere) for the Defensive Primary slot that use this new scale and offer the +50 resistance against one damage type. Those are the key to my build and upgrading that would be flat-out awesome.
Can't understand those who think a MMO needs to be WOW.
If the customer wanted WOW, wouldn't they be there?
BoE/BoP outrage and the outcry over shared bank spaces all points to one fact Devs seem to be about 7 years behind the power curve learning - players don't think of characters as spererate, discrete entitites. Its one PLAYER = one ACCOUNT, and we want to be able to share stuff freely with ourselves. Trying to make your accomplishments with one character not conferable on another is stupid. We had to beat it out of them with a stick when it came to costume locks ("Kill 5,000 of those mobs on EACH of my characters that wants that? Kiss my possterior!").

WoW does many things well (ease of learning, deep pool of activities, multiple advancement paths), and emulating those aspects is a sound strategy for building and maintaining customer-base. Torturing the poo out of people over non-transferable gear is not one of those things WoW does well. It's an endgame strategy of building an audience of masochists that most non-WoW players desperately hope won't spread to their game of choice.

I replied in more depth in the other thread.
The basic gist is that it's far easier to make a 4 stat toon using 2 stat gear than it would be for the devs to make 4 stat gear that works for everyone.
Also, my main is a 3 stat toon (DEX/CON +STR), and Lady E actually has 4 stats (CON/END +REC +INT), so I'm well aware of the value of building toons with more than just 2 stats.
As we know there are 55\55 blues, i have 1 such str\dex primary offence, so those double stat PURPLE items are still much worse than sl BLUE gear. And 95 single stat is a bad choice too, i never used single stat items before, and won't, just because 89\8's and 29\8's exist. And PLEASE remove all those 3\4 stat combo items, NOBODY ever uses them.

Except me, so pretty much you're talking out your sample size of one orifice.
I use a three stat primary because I need at least a somewhat tolerable equilibrium value. I don't touch 4 stats though.
On my main, I run 4 stats (more or less). Dex/Con, +Ego (60ish crit chance), +End (has like 130 in the stat). But that's pretty common I'm guessing. And I'm not a PvPer.

Oh, total I have 4 stats across all items. I'm just saying I don't touch items that are 4 stats or more.
I'm more likely to consider 3-stat items if they're in things I'm focusing for (heck, Gigantes on test is CON/END/rec, and she's my PVP character), and high enough that I can't get more out of it by Tetris-ing in some 2-stat items instead.
I play Statblock Tetris with most of my characters (finding an acceptable balance between at least 3-4 stats), PVP ones are no real exception. I really hope some more interesting +PERCEP items come out of this (as that's my biggest drain on stats right there).
They did say the costume unlocks were moved onto separate items, correct? Why do the ones for the weapon skin unlocks seem to be absent, then? Oh, wait. That's right, you're still supposed to grind power replacers for costume unlocks. My bad.
Anyway, I'm VERY glad to see that the cost of PvP gear has been reduced. 200k still seems like a lot, but I'm still only PvP'ing every now and then so I don't really know how much Acclaim you can make if you're really active at it.
BUG:Some costume items in the PvP list (noted on some "Magnificent" items) are listed as Primary Utility, which makes no sense. From my perspective, this is actually an expansion of an issue that I noticed on the AH for some costume unlocks before.
I've commented and filed at least one Ticket on this before and been sorely annoyed by the impact it had on Auction House listings, and still don't know why so many costume unlock items (last I checked EDIT: a quick check shows recent Weapons Unlocks as consistently displaying this issue) don't list under "Costume Unlocks" in the AH and clutter up the Primary Utility listing. I don't know if this has been explained somewhere before and I'm just not aware of it, but even if these costume unlocks are not intended to be BoE like the stat items, I feel it important to call attention to this since: 1) It is confusing to see them listed as Primary Utility in the Store in the first place, 2) It seems likely that same issue/bug/oversight might be propagating to the PvP costume unlocks, so might be related to the BoE items that have similar issues, and whatever reason/issue is behind it seems like it should be looked at.
1. Don't put either dex or ego to a triple or quad gear unless it has both, or it will simply be useless. People generally try to get a mix of 3 to 5 stats and anybody who takes ego or dex will want both. SO any quad gear with dex or ego but not both is simply of no use to anybody, either the crit people or the non-crit people.
2. Dual gear has a 40 stat combination while quad has only 42, which is a rather bad compromise.
3. Most people build to max 2 superstats and 1-3 auxiliary stats, and the chance of any quad corresponding is low, ESPECIALLY if it has either dex or ego. However almost everybody will want a bit of endurance or con so those may be effective stats to include often.
Some popular quads as secondary gear may be:
CON/END combined with any of: INT/REC, INT/PRE, INT/STR, STR/REC, STR/PRE, STR/DEX, DEX/EGO
DEX/EGO combined with any of: INT/CON, INT/PRE, INT/STR, STR/CON, STR/PRE, STR/REC, CON/END
4. If the reason so many quads are dex or ego, mutually exclusive, is to follow the standard stats by slot, try switching some of it to triple gear.
5. The prices are fine if you want to buy the single stat secondary gear but the multistat gear may need to be less expensive.
6. As some said it may be very desirable to get dodge or resistance primary defenses. Perhaps they may be more expensive than the stat only versions.
7. The quad primaries are quite bad. Especially the primary offenses which universally include dex AND str making the number of builds to use them rather small. The only people who take a minor amount of STR are melee, because anybody who has enrage will NOT want only a few points of str from a primary. And anybody who is dex is trying to get tons of it. So the primaries with a minor bit of dex and str are again not appropriate to a lot of builds.

That I don't remember, but still hardly a difference imo since we're talking about purples vs blues.
