Hiyas, I've come back to CO to actually start playing again, instead of just making costumes every other month or so. I'm having a blast trying to remember how to play and all. I stopped playing regularly before the free for all change, so it's essentially a new game for me. So far Cryptic's done a good job.

Now if I can just figure out how to respec some of my old characters, I'd be set! :D

To respec, you need to take your characters into a Powerhouse. (AKA the spinning gear thing with the electrical field in the middle.) By talking to the trainers in there, they'll offer you a choice of Remove Powers. On the power removal screen, there's an option on the lower right called Full Retcon. When you hit that button, you'll have the option to use a Free respec or an Item respec (from Veteran Rewards).

With all of the most recent changes made to the ability score stats, every character in the game got a free respec. Just use this for all of your existing characters and have fun rebuilding them however you want. Yet I would advise you to make a new alt or two to get a feel for the current state of the game before you worry about completely rebuilding your old characters.

Another handy trick is to sign up for the PTS and do some testing there. Every C-store item is free on the PTS, including retcon tokens, so you can retcon and test to your heart's delight.

If you want to test with a specific character from Live, you can copy that character over to the PTS.

It's also a very good place to test out stuff you're interested in buying on Live.

    Oh, and welcome back!
