Oldtimer Atari Player

well hello all! I am Attricane a 46 year old grandfather that has played atari for years. My grandfather bought us our first one from sears in the 1970's when "Pong" was the thing. Boy has Atari come a long way! One thing has stayed the same.........I continue to be an avid gamer and now retired avid gamer!! You can call me Attricane or Granpa.....either is cool! LOL :D

    lol welcome fellow old timer (I'm 38...)! Enjoy champs, even though Atari was bought a long time ago by a french company (infogrames...) and no longer owns cryptic as of recently. nonetheless, welcome!

    Indeed, The Atari you see is just an empty brand name with no studio attached albeit with the ownership to the classic Atari 1970's pioneering video games titles. Its infogrames under the skin.

    Ps: I had Atari too!. :) - Pong, Combat, Space Invaders (which i loved) and Backgammon (which i hated).
    I still have the tattered box and console of the wooden 2600 along with two arthritic-sounding orange-buttoned joysticks in the loft somewhere.

    I love that there are so many people that are 30+ here. I remember having an Odyssey System and then... the almighty Atari appeared! (I'm 40, for the record)

    I've been going by the name Zeus for several years now, and my main character is Zeus Almighty.

    Yep...our first gaming system was an Odyssey 3000. No cartridges, just a big knob for the 4 games :p
