Whitelist permanent?

Is there a way to set /Whitelist as a permanent command so I do not have to type it every time I log in?

It seems like every time I start a mission in a crowded area I get 5-6 duel invites, a supergroup invite, and a friend invite. The friend invites I don't mind so much, except they seem to always be do this mission for me.

I play PvE, I don't want to duel. It's boring and it's not why I play the quests. Once in a while I pop into a PvP match, other than that I don't want PvP in "open" areas ever.

In short please provide a fixed way to block duel invites.

want this! I pvp also when I feel like it, but in a pvp area, duels spam is just annoying..
Permanent settings can't be THAT hard to get through..

I said this earlier in an Open World PVP thread.

Everytime you zone or log in, it defaults back. And if ou don't catch it...DUEL SPAM!!

I have absolutely zero interest in PvP. I'd also be very happy to have a way to permanently opt out of receiving duel invite spam.

I'm still here, so clearly this isn't a game-breaking issue for me. But, I would enjoy the game more if responding to unwanted requests to duel disappeared from my "to do" list, when playing my characters.

If you want to get funky with this, you could always bind your movement keys to white list everything that you want to white list so that every time you zone, within a few seconds you are immunized to those annoyances :)

This be much more brilliant than me binding whitelist_duels to y.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but when I tried to do this, I ended up canceling the movement binds. Which was pretty awkward, until I switched them back. How can this be done?

Incidentally, I *love* the "y" bind that somebody else recommended to eliminate duel spam from random strangers. I hit "Y" essentially every time I enter a zone and the game is more enjoyable now because of it.

    /bind w "+forward $$ whitelist_duels 1"

Assuming "w" as the default forward, if you prefer some other key, just replace.

Using the above format it's easy enough to add other whitelist commands or any other command for that matter to activate with the other movement keys such as turn left, right, etc.

Edit: To clarify, what you did was to replace the movement key with the whitelist command, you needed to create a bind which contains both.

    ....

    thank you for this.

    from a non-code-thinker...

    I appreciate it.

Now that my wife and I have implemented the "w" bind described further down in this thread for all of our characters and played that way for a few weeks, I can say that learning this one bind has improved our gaming experience more than any other single thing either of us have learned in our time playing CO. It is very nice that neither of us gets interrupted anymore by unwanted duel requests from random strangers. It is particularly welcome to no longer need to respond to multiple, sequential attempts coming from the same random stranger, which rapidly became tiresome, whenever it happened.

I'd like to request this thread be stickied, given its potential to have a similar positive effect on the CO experience of many others.

Here's the bind in question, provided by Ashlocke in an earlier post in this thread:

    /bind w "+forward $$ whitelist_duels 1"

This bind leads to whitelisting duels every time you move your character forward, by default, which effectively means that you never get duel invites from random strangers after you type this bind out and hit "return", for the character then logged into the game. There is, at present, no easy way to turn off duel requests from random strangers for an entire account. But, at least it is possible through binds to effectively bring that about.

Finally, our thanks to Ashlocke for information that made a significant and positive difference.
