Hello, I hope all of you are doing well.

I signed up gold to try the game out for a while. I started playing last night after taking a half day waffling between concepts and tinkering with the character creation utility. I finally cobbled together a power armor character and have high hopes for having fun.

I read PulseWave’s PA guide. Though, I took invulnerability and jet boots as my first powers at the house to build on wrist bolters and power gauntlets. I took INT for my first super stat with recovery in mind for the second. Then, inventor for the relevant stat boosts. I can always ret con latter…

I actually played Champions PNP back in the day but this is my first super hero MMORPG. I am an old MMO hand otherwise. So far, so good in CO!

I am a little sad in that I am able to figure out how to go somewhere as esoteric as he77 in real life but can’t yet figure out how to go to Canada in Champions Online. *SIGH* ;)

I’ll get there, LOL. (Canada, o k? Canada…)

My character? M.A.R.S. Zero - Manned Armored Response System. Model Zero. PICTURES HERE

For my first try with the creator I guess he turned out ok. Though I wish I knew how to add shoulder missile packs and arm guns in an attempt to make him look a bit like the Black Talon armor.

Oh well, listen at me ramble. I just wanted to drop by and say “Hi.” Maybe I’ll see some of you in game.

Welcome to a great game and a great community. I hope you enjoy your stay.
To answer your question about Canada, there are two options.
The first is Defender gives you a mission called Canadian Crisis (or something like that). This will give you a special Crisis encounter in the frozen North. To get there take the helicopter, which is on a lower platform near the jet in MC.
Alternatively you may go through the Westside story line. Eventually you will get quests that lead you to post-crisis Canada. There you will spend many hours batting Hunter Patriots, Viper, Telios, and various other baddies.
I hope that helps a bit

    And again, welcome and enjoy

    Welcome! :D

just to add a bit more to Ari's post: the Canada crisis is only offered once at least one character has done the whole westside arc. all subsequent toons can pick it up from defender at level 6.

edit: oh, and unfortunately, neither black talon's gun arm, or shoulder launchers are available for player use. Not by default, and not as unlocks either :'(

Yeah, I took the helicopter to Canada and went from L7 to L11 this morning. Working on killing 150 Viper agents... I took that route so I could go back to M. City later as West Side seemed a bit too tough for this rookie early on.

No gun or shoulder launcher. *Is Sad.*

Thank you both for the tips and welcome.
