now that we are Free to play....I am constantly bombarded with duel requests....

even when Im fighting in missions....

very very annoying and frustrating beyond words... well maybe not beyond words since Im posting this.

I have tried the console command "/whitelist_duels 1" without the quotes over and over....to no avail.

does this even work ? or is there another command that does ?

I really really wish I could control the amount of these constant requests.

thanks in advance.

There IS such a command, because i used it.. once... perhaps it's something as simple as being "whitelist_duel 1" instead of "duels"?

    I am probably wrong but...

I always thought "0" was off and "1" was on. And a whitelist is for permissions, so I would think setting a duel whitelist to "1" would allow duels while "0" would block them...

    Or am I entirely backwards?

A whitelist means you have to be on the list to have permission to do something. The opposite would be a blacklist where being on the list means you don't have permission to do something. So turning the whitelist on should mean that only the people you list have permission to challenge you to a duel.

And the White list in this case, the people who have permission to duel you, are people on your friends lists and in your current characters' Super group.

With Whitelist duels on [1], only they can send you a duel request, anyone else trying would fail.

    well its cool and all.........

    but ........

the whitelist options uncheck every time I zone (er, i mean change instance)...have to open the social UI and re-check them all every time.

good start though.... hopefully next patch will fix it.

at least it works when its on.

Oh, I just posted a similar thread in another forum. Good to see, that I am not the only one considering that an annoyance. Bad to see, that this problem is around already such a long time.

    this is kinda bad.....

I can turn off all the spammed requests from mischevious players ( have to re-do it every time we zone or change instance mind you ) except that they now spam you with friend requests when the find you are running with duels whitelisted.....

... then you have to find them, click them, then ignore...

what a waste of time, and disheartening to the community.

people jsut love to bother others I guess........

    got an idea devs.

how about making the whitelist checkboxes saveable when you "save UI" in the options ?

that way we wont have to toggle them each time we zone...and you can have the checkboxes that you want checked automatically activated ....

    yeeeesssssssss......

    "save UI"

    to include whitelist settings.

    and dont forget !

to add a "friends request" toggle as well.

    *sigh

I love to hang out in Mill City and watch the PvP fights in the center while I adjust my gear and organize my character....and even break for lunch or what-not.

fun to have all the activity going on, and I can chat locally while I am busy fiddling ( I almost always have zone turned off, local is the way to go when your in the center).... the people that hang out in the full zones and rumble in the center are fun, and fun to watch....makes organizing my inventory a blast rather than a chore.

but it's HARD when I have to decline all the requests.

sometime I love PvP'ing with others there, its a blast...but other times I'd rather jsut watch...observe styles...look at the wide variety of costumes..etc.

please make it easier for us to be a part of a haggle of people without having to be spammed by requests.... or make the whitelist toggles stay checked ( i get tagged every time by fogetting to go through the whole toggle process every time ) !! and be able to restrict friend request spams as well, because if you are whitelisting all other requests, it's enevitable...a friend request will start popping up..... and them ultimately, I will have to search and ignore.... I dont waht to have to go through that whole process every single game session.

I love being around other players....but HATE being able to not isolate myself from interaction if need be or if I so choose to be an observer.... or I'm busy rearranging my furniture..lol

thanks..... I hope I made sense...... I ramble sometimes.

There used to be no one to watch lol.
ah the irony....I know what you mean though, I love to team but sometimes my connection is laggy, whatever, and I don't like to team then. does the anon command help with this?

no. ( but it is effective for what it's for )

anon is for the search in the social tab I beleive... ... ( not sure what else it affects)

I've had anon enabled since the get-go....keeps the team invite spam that comes from out of zone, etc at bay.

The whole UI integration of the Whitelist is a joke. Who thought it was a wonderful idea for it not to continue to be effective after logging out and logging back in... not to mention merely changing zones clears the whitelist. If you set an option for a character, it should be saved, period. Nothing more, nothing less.

    Please, fix this.
