FC.15.20110111a.30 Patch Notes
ETA on PTS update: 4:30 PM PST (GMT-8)

Known Issues:
All known issues will be posted here.

Powers:
Darkness
  • This framework was erroneously checking to see whether you had purchased an Energy Builder in addition to the normal requirements for purchasing certain tiers of powers within the framework. In general, this effect would be unnoticed except when doing a full respec and not purchasing an Energy Builder first.
  • Shadow Form: The Shadowfeast self-healing proc is now considered a Life Draining effect for the purposes of Dark Transfusion not reducing its effectiveness.
  • Ebon Rift: Power now properly generates Energy when hitting a Feared target while you own Spirit Reverberation.
  • Ebon Rift: Ranks 2 and 3 of Ebon Rift should now properly spawn on top of your target instead of you.
  • Shadow Blast: Chance to Fear now scales up from 20-100% as the power is charged. Tap cost has been reduced very slightly, and the cost at full charge has been increased by ~2 Energy.
  • Shadow Embrace: Power has been moved from the Close Area Attack category to the Ranged Area Attack category.
  • Shadow Embrace: Power now has access to the Nailed to the Ground advantage.
  • Shadow Shroud: Description now properly mentions the Active Offense shared cooldown.
  • Summon Shadows: Devouring Shadows (New!): This custom advantage causes a portion of the damage your Shadows deal to heal you. This heal is considered a Life Drain effect for Dark Transfusion.

Missions:
  • Desert: Radiation Domination mission now completes properly.
  • UNITY: Foxbat should no longer get stuck after the initial wave of attackers in There and Bat Again mission.

UI:
  • Market House: There is now a "special" category in the item quality list.

    The "Special" refers to the UI errors in the MP with items that had untranslated text errors. It will now say special.

    And the build is scheduled for tomorrow in the AM.
    I'll get notes to the Community guys to post soon.

    Feel free to give us your feedback in these changes. At this point we are fixing major or stability issues but we will get any issues on the top of the list.

    Yay on the first, and does the second refer to Very Hard blue drops?

    Also, is this scheduled to go live tomorrow or next week?

    Bobobo, I must ask, will we be getting free retcons due to framework changes? If so, it will save me about 200 globals right now to know to wait for tomorrow. xD

    It won't let me in the PTS anymore after this update; it says it's down for maintenance. Anyone know how long that's supposed to last?

    There is no Retcon planned for the darkness changes. The changes are primarily buffs with some powers added. We usually give out a free Retcon when we make drastic balance changes to a framework. The changes in this pass didn't feel like they would make anyone want to drop darkness powers.


    We'll keep an eye on the feedback tho!

    RoBoBo, I think it's more about people having level 40's that would like to access the mighty Ebon Ruin, rather than drop a bunch of powers.

    Yeah, gotta say, if this doesn't constitute drastic balance changes to a framework I'm not sure what does. It's just that these balance changes are pretty much all buffs rather than nerfs. I know a lot of darkness/mystic builds that had toyed around with some of this framework before and dropped the powers disappointed. I am sure many of them will want to return and put them back into their builds.

    Gotta agree, I think any and every darkness character will want to retcon after this patch, if only to get ebon ruin.

    Also, I completed my chocolate delivery, pictured here.

    I'm sorry but add me to the growing list of people needing retcons. I have so many powers and advantages I now need to shuffle around. Yes I will by large keep 50-75% of my stuff I currently have but thats still a huge chunk of stuff I neeeed to change. Otherwise it is farm for a good few months to get the G needed to afford the retcon since I would have to go alllll the way back to practically the start minus talent picks since I picked those first. It's either that or have to burn real money on buying the retcon, money I dont have. Or burning my banked retcon which I always save incase my real retcon doesn't work. Meaning if it doesn't work how I planned I'd be screwed.

    And I am a min/maxer whose been helping test the heck out of this patch. I can only imagine the screams and cries of people who play darkness and AREN'T either of those. It will be horrible. Especially since pretty much almost every power in the set got some sort of change, and there are now more powers in the Darkness set then you can actually pick so you would in all likelyhood have to totally redo your build to get it working how you'd like.

    It's just going to be an endless nightmare of outcry tomorrow if there is no free retcon for dark toons. And that is going to be on top of the outcry that you KNOW will happen simply involving the Void being added as another AT to buy.

    I think the bigger issue is not that people won't keep powers, but rahter that at level 40 its over 850G if you want to drop something like shadow blast. Now me I have already got a toon waiting in the powerhouse for the change, but combined with the huge costs of retconning this would be a seriously bad idea imo.

    Can't you just make it so anyone with more than 3 darkness powers gets a retcon or something?

    There is a minor problem with the patch that appears to have gone live. The Void's innate talent still gives the wrong stats. I'm seeing Dex, Ego, Int, End.

    Ebon Void still slices the forearm of large characters in half while not moving. When moving, it jumps forward a couple of feet. This is less blatant on slender characters. It also applies to most 1-armed blocks, including the new Fire Shield.

    Could we get a "forced march" like option for the summoned shadows. (Also could both be a 1 point advantage?)

    also also, why does int not increase length of time shadows are out?

    Found a bug with Summon Shadows:

    It seems the new advantage is also present in all ranks of the power, which means we don't need to get the advantage when rank 3 does the same thing.
