Champions-Online is not CoH, CoH is not Champions-Online, but as cousins with a lot in common I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

It takes a while to adjust so don't be put off by the different UI locations(it took me a fortnight to feel like I knew what i was doing).

Sending you a friend invite so you can question me about whatever questions may arise. Nice to have another Union-ite on-board.

Looking forward to seeing your characters on duty. .o>

Lol !, Damz's dirty little secret!, moonlighting in Millennium City huh! (you mean i shouldn't of pm'd Golden Girl on the matter so she can pull her traditional 'wear the stone of shame' routine on you?:o )

I'll let you into a little secret Damz. There are shedloads from Paragon here, many of them from Union and on my global friends lists. Some have made Millennium City their new home, some have decided its not for them, some still serve in both cities.... its no big deal.

    Still, Mums the word. ;)

First impression: Had to change the default movement settings to my coh one since i just couldnt get the hang of it. Like the tutorial so far, though i do think the map could be a lot more helpfull. Havent really played around with the costume creator yet since want to see how the game is.

Combat is totally different and not sure yet whether its good or bad. Will defo take me a while to get used to the instant recharge thing :)

Yep, customise it so it emulates your CoH setup - check

Menu > graphics options > outlines off - check
(other gfx settings refined under advanced gfx options)

Realise that blocking generates energy for you

Pressing 'J' (i believe) or the PDA icon top left brings up the mission list - select a mission as primary to make the current mission an orange circle on your map (others will be green and mousable for ID).

Prepare to lose a lot of time in that cossie creator. Perks (like badges) and random drops off enemies will unlock and give you even more cossie options. If you don't want to wait for the 3-5k kills then you can purchase some collections at the c-store.

Ps: If you want to mix 'n' match different powers from different powersets then take the open framework choice at the character creation stage.

Oh,... and theres the Newbie Guide.

Hey Damz, good to see the Noob buster has arrived in Millenium City. I'll echo all of ML's statements from above.

Hopefully I'll see you around the city, I will say at least try to give the game until level 25 and the nemesis system before you decided whether or not to quit.

Welcome! As for controls, I really recommend trying CO with a game controller. I played CoH for years with keyboard and mouse, but as soon as I tried an Xbox controller in CO there was no doubt that I liked it better. Some of the friends I've talked to, former CoH players, had the same experience with the controller in this game, quote one guy "this game just instantly got 10 times better." And now it's not just the Xbox 360 controller that's supported, but since launch they've added support for general PC gamepads.
