Hello all. I'm a recent refugee from The Other Superhero Game, and I'm glad to be here.
First off, I was a huge COX fan. Huge. But for various reasons, I had to leave the game for a couple of years. It wasn't until recently that I had the chance to get back into the game. And it was just in time for Going Rogue, too. I hadn't had a chance to try the Architect missions and I was really looking forward to all the changes they made. I plunked down for copies for me and my wife (who is also a refugee here now) and joined the fun.
Did I say fun? Yeah, right.
Endgame? Roll another alt. Consistent World, as they promised - where your actions change the course of events? Nope. Exhaustive array of travel powers? Not at all. User created game content? Broken nearly every time I played and extremely limited.
Furthermore, Blueside was beginning to look dated, and Redside wasn't too far off. Yellowside was nice and pretty, but all of that section felt like an entirely different game, and certainly not one filled with a city of heroes. It was more like costume thugs. Maybe I'm just a cornball, but I like my heroes to be heroic, my villains to be villainous, and limited lines between the two.
Last but not least, the sense of being in a community was gone, replaced with a bunch of people who seemed to think the game could do no wrong no matter what. In it was a haphazard GM system that was impotent at best and uncaring at worst (when Cryptic ran the game, I remember 45 minutes being an "unacceptable wait" - by GM standards. Now, it's a four-day wait just to hear from COX GMs to tell me they can't do anything about my problem, "but hey, if you find a bug, thanks for letting us know." - that's a direct quote, by the way. All for something that could have been solved in minutes.)
In two weeks of playing, they managed to destroy any sense of love that I had for the game.
Well, it was about that time that I remembered Champions Online. I'm not a fan of Marvel, so I skipped it thinking that CO was just going to be a reskinned version of MUO. Still, I took a chance and downloaded the trial.
This. THIS was everything that I expected to be in the game of old. And from looking on the boards, there's a real sense of community, the old community that once existed at COX.
I knew this is where I belonged, and so here I am. And very much glad to have made the change.

Welcome. I am a refugee from CoX. I like CoX (yes i did...) but CO's freedom of character concept makes it so hard to go back to CoX. I ran thru some of going rogue (the number of Sarah Palin variations was pretty damn funny), but I didn't even get anyone to level 20 in the new zone. Its fun and all, but its hard to go back and feel limited by powers and by the need to group all the time.

Yeah, great bunch of folk and once you experience the freedom of character creation, you will never look back!
Game play is fun and the community is generally good folks.
If ya ever want to team or need help in game, just shout and you'll get responses!
Edit: Love the title of your thread btw.
