In the controls settings in the options at the bottom under the auto attack drop down I am seeing four options.

None
Toggle, Change Cancels
Toggle, Never Cancels
Maintain

However in the description of auto attack it says that there is supposed be a "Toggle, Non-Combat Cancels" option this is the one option I would like to enable but have not been able to because its not showing up.

Any suggestions?

Actually, that is a great idea. I use Toggle, Never Cancels and always forget to toggle it off after a battle. Gets me in trouble at times :). The Change Cancels seems to cancel once your target mob is dead, when in a multi higher level mob attack (usually due to me forgeting to turn off toggle traveling thru big mobs haha). No activity for x seconds Cancels, something to that effect. Anyway, i like the idea. But then again i like...... uh, nm. How many infractions till ya get banned around here? :o.

Similarly, ever since Serpent Lantern I have found that my Melee toons are auto targeting Flak Guns and Gun Turrets and whatnot with a much higher priority than actual active opponents and that even after I tab past them they seem to reacquire almost immediately. I thought at first that this was a weird Threat-related aspect of the emplacements but I’m continuing to experience this quasi-magnetic targeting behavior even after toggling off the Target Highest Threat option and I would really like for this to stop. Am I missing something blazingly obvious under the targeting options?

There is an option to turning off attacking those kinds of objects. Forget where it is though.

No there isn't. They aren't objects, they are mobs. They're just totally unimportant mobs unless you happen to be a flying hero.
