I joined Champions Online a few weeks ago. I've been interested in it since it was first announced, but it was only recently that I finally got an internet connection that wasn't on a satellite delay. So while I'm a fairly competent gamer, I have absolutely no online gaming experience.

So far, Champions Online compares decently to the other games I play. The hitch is that none of those other games have a monthly fee. So I'm looking to broaden my horizons with the social aspect of the game, and find out if it's worth it. At this point, the total of my multiplayer experience consists of accidentally accepting a duel while selling things to a merchant. At least I hope that's what happened - I'd feel really bad if I accidentally started the duel instead, given how well I did.

I guess the real point of all this is that there's no tutorial for the social features, so I have no idea how anything works. Educate me, please. What should I be doing?

Hang out near tailor in Millennium City, complement peoples costumes, watch duels, do duels.
Particapate in Costume Contest in MC, duel after CC ends, not when its going.
Join to battle Viper X in MC when someone shouts "VIPER X UP #3!!" in Zone, join to battle Mega Destroyer in MC when someone shouts in Zone "MEGA D UP IN #6!!".
Join teams doing Doc Destroyers Factory in MC, join teams doing NemCon (Nemesis Confortation) in MC, join teams doing Figh Club (we're not supposed to talk about the Fight Club..).
Join Grond hunt in Desert or any other battle against Cosmic enemies in that matter.
    And solo you missions...
So hang around in MC alot...
    :)

Don't forget Carlos' Gym, Club Caprice, S.S Queen Bayou, Sherrera's bar. There's also Tigakilik, Teliosaur, Qwyjibo (or however you spell it), Therakiels temple runs, and uh.. pretty much every lair and public.open quest that people do frequently.

I suggest joining a super group to assist you with any questions. If you wish to know the basics of MMO knowledge, send me a PM and I'll give any information you don't know. The reason there is know social turtorial is because most of it is common knowledge to gamers and the members of the game ussually make these public events like Costume Contests and also make the names themselves.
