New player and not liking it so far

hi all

im new to this game, hoping to enjoy it...
im already hating it... YES already

because the client update takes so long...
im downloading from the server at about 50kbs!!! the update is 1.9GIGS!!!
my max download is 700kbs and there isnt an alternate link for the patch/client

really disappointed in the update

this is all i have experienced so far trying to play this game...
it better be better in gameplay

    You seem to be misplacing your hate. You're blaming a game you haven't even played yet on your slow internet connection. I can understand why'd you be frustrated, I had to wait the better part of the day myself, but don't blame the game, dude.

    When an mmo has been out for a while you need to expect there to be quite a few updates to it. They make it a better game.

    I imagine if you were new to WoW the updates must take days!

    I do feel for you though. My connection is rubbish and updates take ages. But saying the game is rubbish before you have even played it does seem a little odd and trollish.

    And of course the gameplay is going to be better than sitting watching a progress bar to fill.

    If you haven't even playied... you have NO right to call it a bad game -.- and second of which, did you just buy the game at random or have you even playied the trial version? I did that on steam which got me a cool pet!

    As with any developed MMO game, there are updates to make it better. This is a fact of the way it works. I'm afraid if you do not have the patience for the patch to apply, then you may have problems with some of the gameplay. I may be wrong about this.

    Be patient.

    You're downloading an MMO client on a slow internet connection. That's not updates, that's the whole client. Not much Cryptic can do about that :-P

    I feel ya.
    Slow download patching sucks.
    When Champions launched, patching was a nightmare, and that's being nice.
    But, it will finish someday...then you can finally make ya a guy.
    Good luck with it...let us know what you think of the game itself.
    Once you're patched, however, you should be fine on updates...most are a few minutes...so in your case, you might be able to do a normal patch cycle with a hour or two of your slow connection.

    Strange, I haven't had a single slow update for this. During beta I had remarked to friends how surprised I was at the fast download speed of the client and when I reinstalled this a couple of weeks ago I again had a very nice speeds.

    So you're hating on the game because your internet connection sucks. Got it, Bro.

    Just as well you aren't playing LOTRO lol!

    You'd have installed about 5-8GB of data THEN have to download and install another 2 or maybe 4GB of book updates.

    But seriously, this is the situation with all MMORPGs. You have to learn to expect it with any such game that's been out a while.

    What slow download? I am returning to try this game a again, in 13 mins ive downloaded 1 gig, and i dont have super good connection....

    Apparently the OP didn't continue to hate it quite so much ... in 10 days he's made 5 characters and levelled at least 16 times ... link :)
