If you familer with the story of the Stone MOneky King. Then you might knw about his cloud walking or cloud flying ability.

Not rellly thinking that the Earth travel power would be close enough I chose it anyway, reasoning that he could do that, being the STONE Monkey King.

Anyway, while testing this ability outside, I decided to jump off a high clifff face and execute this ability while in mid air.

Low and behold, a perfect cloud formed at the Stone Monkey King's feet as it slowed his descent to a stop.

There was not a clump of earth to be seen.

Just a billowing cloud .

I was pleased with this outcome, but hope it isn't a trick of the light or a grapichal glitch.

It might be right!.

Thats how the power works in thin air.

From what I have heard, if you are off the ground when activating the travel power, it will be a cloud and not a chunk of earth.

It's been that way for a while now.

The earth travel power works based upon the terrain your character is standing on.

In the air it's a cloud, on earth is a rock, on pavement it's a hunk of concrete with girders still sticking out of it, on ice it's like a small iceberg. One easy way to get the cloud is when flying switch costumes, that resets the power and since you're in the air it becomes the cloud.

I'll take a few pics of the different styles and post them in a few minutes.

I could only post 5 pics so here is concrete flight.

I currently don't have anyone with earth flight that is high enough level to try out monster island to see if sand or the volcano have different ones.

Thanks for that, those pics are wonderful.

To think I almost took the ice travel power. Reasoning that clouds have ice crystals inside them.

Though it seems that power isn't even really flying.

It's possible to start in cloud from the ground, if you charge the power and leap at the right moment too.

I love how so many people in this game really stick to concepts (even going so far as to do the ice crystals thing!). I didn't even think I would be this kind of person, but I get so into the characters that I just can't take something out of what the character would have.

    Good times. :)

The whole stone monkey thing, isn't that what Dragonball was based off of? King Kamehameha and the nimbus, and all that?

I noticed that when I did this, i got a rocky nucleus at the centre of my cloud.

    No problem with that .

It's what the Monkey does after calling for his cloud in the early eghties televison show MONKEY MAGIC.

He quite often leaps up into the air to meet it.

Nearly all of my characters have strong character concepts that I have tried to stick to in character creation and buying upgrades when I have leveled them. Occsionally I lapse and end up getting the one thing that breaks away from the theme in faovr of just making them tougher.

As fior the connectin between Monkey and DragonBall Z. Yeah I think they both came from the same source, if not the latter from the former. I was just watching the televsion film adpation of MONKEY MAGIC made just a few years ago and notice one of the villlians callling him by his name SON-GOTU. Which does sound alot like the names used in DragonBall Z.

They are all based on characters from the ancient Chinese story Journey to the West. I used to love Monkey as a kid and immediately wanted to recreate him here, but sadly no staffs attacks are available. However, I have seen a few well done versions in game.

The character was originally named Sun Wukong, and he was birthed from a Stone Egg. He was such a hassle to the other chinese deities that Buddha ended up dropping a mountain on top of him. Journey to the west came later when the monk found him, and Wukong traveled to the west for atonement.

There is a bug that keeps some of the rebar around, sometimes - even if you turn the travel off completely, and then jump off of the ground it can be seen.
