Brawl's story (for now) goes that he has an enigmatic heritage with a possible demonic lineage or patron. He stood up to gangs in his hometown on a daily basis and trained himself towards the limits of human potential. He harnesses the power of Ki to project fire and fly, and can also absorb a small amount of Ki ((XP)) from opponents he defeats.
When Brawl gets to lvl 25 I have no idea what kind of nemesis would work for him. I've tampered with the idea of a spider-themed martial artist named Goliath Spider, but so far it hasn't come to fruition.
Image of the hero, Brawl, is attached, and I need help making a nemesis for him. Can anyone assist?
Here's few ideas off the top of my head based upon your backstory.
A rival that feels it unfair Brawl is more powerful then his. One of the gang members Brawl used to fight with decided to even the score by training just as hard so he could beat Brawl.
And ancient immortal master that steals Ki energy to keep himself alive. Or perhaps some sort of Ki vampire.
Another way to go would be a demonic vendetta dealing with his lineage or patron. A rival demon wants to get revenge for some slight hundreds of years ago and decides to try to kill Brawl to get it.
Hmm. How would I implement some of these I guess would be the question. Making the character is easy enough, but I'm not sure I could believe I was fighting a gang rival or a demonic entity when they're raiding a Newscast to broadcast mind control signals.
We all have to put up with the limitations of the Nemesis storyline unfortunately.
I don't get why all nemesis whether brute, maniac, or mastermind would build a deathray.
And though we get to pick henchmen the list doesn't fit a lot of stories. I've seen one of my friends attacked by pirates in the desert since his nemesis Ringmaster didn't have the option for crazed clowns.
I just play it off as my character can't figure out why his arch enemy is acting so strange during those missions.
Pirates in the Desert sounds rather awesome actually. XD
Yeah, I hate how everything has to be purposely vague. It seems to me that selecting a personality type (Mastermind/Maniac/Savage) should determine what missions you'll end up doing. Mastermind missions could result in the Deathray of course, but a Maniac should do something crazy, like try to turn the world's oceans into gelatin. Likewise a Savage really ought to run around smashing faces in, and not build deathrays and call people 'pinhead' at every opportunity.

I've also been editing his backstory. I'll update the first post.
