Advice please. I have created my new nemesis for Witchfinder and want some advice. I wanted a pirate, so I could use new shirt that dropped from vamps in VB. I don't want to use the same Aristocratic jacket Witchfinder uses, so I have tried 2 looks. I know the cloak is a bit weird, but I wanted a more grand look. The final one is another nemesis I am experimenting with. I wanted unusual colours, but not sure about these. Comments and constructive criticism welcome.
Edit: Pirate is called Dead Man's Hand, hence skeletal hand and Ace of spades over one eye. Other one has no name yet.
What powerset are you using for him? Either way I would probably make him more gaunt and much scrawnier, with a name like Dead Man's Hand I don't really envision some buff pirate. I would also change the graphic on his legs, maybe try to get the pantaloons drop from the vamps for him >.>
I like it but feel the colours slightly off, maybe blue and orange or red and green as blue and red doesen't work well.
Maybe a glove on his normal hand as well? I would experiment with the design but I don't have that cossie drop.
Good point re drop. As for the colours, I dislike red and green together as they rarely work, hence the old saying 'Red and green should na'er be seen except upon a fool'. That is why they are the traditional colours for jesters. In some cases the ending is ..except upon an Irish Queen. The saying is often misquoted as blue and green, because of a similar saying which states 'Blue and green should never be seen except with something in between'. The reality all combinations are possible if the hues are correctly picked. But, I actually kinda like the blue and red together, the shades do go well IMHO. I agree orange and blue look awesome, I used a 2 blue and orange combo for a power armour nemesis of Cervando, but I feel orange is not that piratey, whereas reds are.
Finally, the glove idea is a good one, as it would make the skeletal one more obvious, I will try that. I stayed away from gloves originally, as Witchfinder wears gloves.

The powerset is single blades. He is an ex-shipping magnate who lost his fortune gambling and had a mental breakdown. He has now turned pirate in order to amass a new fortune. He is basically human, but lost his hand dueling with Witchfinder and had an artificial cyborg replacement. Rather than go with the 'traditional' hook, he went with a slightly more practical skeletal version, which is still intimidating. The name Dead Man's Hand was given by a soon to be dead journalist wag, an allusion to the fortune he lost gambling and his skeletal hand. Dead Man's Hand is a poker hand consisting of both black aces and both black 8's. The fifth card varies from sources, but it's most popular reference is that it was the cards Wild Bill Hickock had when he was shot dead. However, the name predates him by a long time.
I wish I did have the pantaloons, but I don't so I chose something loud and flashy for him as it suggested Pirate. Feel free to design a completely new look if you wish.
Thank you both for your input, keep it coming everyone
Have you thought about maybe putting him in a full mask? That could look kind of cool with the pirate hat.
Or it could look terrible, who knows.
Well, Witchfinder, whose nemesis he is, has a full face mask so I wanted a different look and besides, whilst not obvious in the image, he has the Spades tattoo over his eye. This is an allusion to an eye- patch but also because the Dead Man's Hand in poker consists of both black Aces and 8's.
The shoulder pads seem like a bit of a distraction to me. Maybe toying with something else or nothing at all might work better?
I agree. I didn't want them but because I had to have the mystic back for the cloak, as for some reason the chest piece is not under jackets, it looked odd having that piece on a cloth jacket. The shoulder pads appear to be part of the mystic back which helps explain what holds them in place. I wish they had a sleeveless jacket under jackets so I could do away with them. Any suggestions as how to get around this?
