Need advice on a Sorcery costume

Also, this is obviously the armor/combat costume. Any other ideas / links / images to inspire my other costumes? I'm coming up with garbage

Ok the first questions are what are you preferences? Preferred colors? Do you like robes, skirts, tights? Modern mystic, classic mage?

Even background story can help get a feel for how they would look, where she grew up, why she has magic powers. Not everyone's preferred method but it works wonders for me.

Are you just wanting ideas to help you might look up Zatanna for inspiration.

Zatanna is pure awesome - the problem is I do not know how to copy her without it looking like I copied her.

I like all colors. The problem is I want to do something a little different - as you see I've gone gold, black and red - not exactly breaking new ground there. I tend to like color wheel basics and Jack Kirby colors. I really want someone who looks like they stepped out of Dr. Strange 1978 comics.
