Guyver armor?

I need some help in finding decent pieces for my costume design.

I'm trying to get a style similar to the Guyver (manga character), most costume pieces seem to be too much like metal armor/cybernetic as opposed to bio armor.

Before anyone jumps on me about copyright, I'm not trying to copy the guyver I just want his armor style.

If anyone has created anything similar could they post a screenshot or description on how I can achieve this.

    I tried to make a bio armor suit for a contest this was the best I could come up with.

    FIrst use "leather" as material type for everything, metal or not, a subtle change in lighting so it's not looking like metal. Try using armor/mecha parts on shoulders, chest layer, bracers, feet. Use "alien muscle" as the underlaying texture on the upper torso and legs.

    Play around with the colours, I find a mid-dark red on the Alien Muscles looks really cool with white or tan mecha parts on top.

    Here's one.
    Sadly all the "insect armor" pieces dont have metal skin on them, so went for different chest piece.

    Stoney bracer ones? From GeoArmor set, same as the feet. The 3rd pic is the costumefile, copy that in your Cryptic screenshotfolder and you get the whole costume easily, if you have the GeoArmor from C-store.

    Chiton/carapace chest piece dont have metal pattern, rest of the pieces do.

    Guyver is bio organic, not metal though.

    So it cant have metal shine on it???
