this may be completely ignored, may only work once, or be reused a lot and depending on what happens I will change the theme each week or 2.

this weeks theme: Mario family reunion!

you've all heard ofmario and luigi, and someof you might have heard of there cousins, wario and waluigi.
in this thread you will make more relatives. All you have to do is give me the save file (so I can look at it on all sides) and how they are related to the famous italian plumbers.

The problem is copying characters is against the CO rules, we're allowed to make homage characters but not copies. So as much amusement as it could be it likely will be reported. My suggestion is turn it into a video game homage contest. Perhaps a Mario's family reunion or something similar that isn't the actual game characters themselves.

Couldnt you just make the costume and save it? No harm in it as long as you don't use it in game right?

    hmm...
I actually have seen a "the thing" character walking around.
I wonder what's wrong with it.

What if you change the characters name?

I created this one and named his Deity of War. =)

But the costume looks exactly like Kratos...plus Deity is too close to being "god"

Deity of Strife, then. Really, as long as you make these characters for fun I see nothing wrong with it.
I've done two dragoons the moment I got the mechanical beast parts. And a black mage, though I had to settle with a wide brimmed fedora since I didn't have the wizard hat. I'd make him smaller and pudgier ala vivi from FFIX, but the chargen doesn't allow these kinds of scales (needs bigger head, shorter legs, bunch of other stuff)

This looks fun! This unfortunately has little to do with the week theme, but I'm making silly fan-renditions of the TF2 cast after RED and BLU get shut down and they all have to become superheroes in order to make a living. :p I'll post the results after I get finished. Currently got these done:

    Heavy becomes The Heavy Weapon!

After RED got shut down, the Heavy returned to Russia to great praise of actually surviving the battles RED put him through. He wasn't through, yet. As a true patriot to his country, the Heavy volunteered to undergo genetic experimentation by the Soviet Science Bureau. After going through the regiments, the Heavy re-emerged as The Heavy Weapon. With fists like steel and a bulletproof body, The Heavy Weapon flinches to no gun!

    Scout becomes The Force-A-Nature!

Though RED was through, the Scout most certainly was not. Still willing to go on and bash some skulls, the Scout signed up with a special tactical operations unit in Patriot City. His co-workers find him somewhat eccentric, what for his unusual liking for baseball, but he is an undeniable asset to the team, with his quick footwork and sharp tongue. Thanks to the training he has received from his unit, he has become much more dangerous with firearms and bats than he has ever been before. Don't get on his bad side, or he'll bonk ya!

    Pyro... IS UNMASKED!!

RED was a tricky company; as it turned out, The Pyro was not a man at all. In fact, he wasn't even a human. No, he was a robot, crafted with a super-sophisticated AI. Created to broadcast a live visual and audio feed back to RED officials, The Pyro turned out to be a more effective spy than even the spy himself! Unfortunately, after RED was shut down, the Pyro was thrown out, and while most of his equipment was missing, his personality, as well as his desire to burn, was still intact. He built incinerary systems into his metallic body and got ready to obtain vengeance on those who had wronged him!

    Sniper becomes The Huntsman.

The Sniper's camper van, as well as most of his other equipment, was actually rented stock that RED had given him. After the company was shut down, however, he lost most of these luxuries. At the time RED was shut down, he was stationed in Madagascar, and with nowhere left to return and not a buck in his pocket, he was forced to return to his old ways of surviving on nothing but nature alone. His senses keened, and he was soon able to shoot a lemur square between the eyes from half a mile away with his bow. When recovered by a passing helicopter from Patriot City, the Sniper decided to use his increased survival and archery skills for the most lucrative thing in the city; beating up bad guys!

    Spy becomes Cloak and Dagger

The Spy was quite thankful that RED had been shut down; admired less for his impressive dueling skill and more for his ability to skulk around silently and stab people in the spine, the Spy decided to use his newfound free time to search for a place where he could relive the adventure of a great dueling hero. Most corners of the world were still calm by then, but he soon came upon Patriot City, and seeing the sorry criminal state that this city was in, decided to set up his base here. Now, he works for the law in this town, fencing off all the villains he can defeat... And backstabbing the ones he can't.

    Soldier becomes Screamin' Eagle

The Soldier returned back to the midwest after RED was shut down, thinking his battle experience with the company would give him some military credentials so that he could finally, officialy, sign up with the US military. However, RED was quite covert in their operations, and as a result, the US military knew nothing of what the Soldier was talking about. Enraged by this, the Soldier decided to do what he usually has done in situations like this; go around and blow stuff up with rockets. Enter the Screamin' Eagle; with spare parts modified from surplus military supplies, the Soldier built himself a rocket suit, and decided to show his national pride, and purge the US of unpatriotic criminal scum!

    Demoman becomes Eyelander Reborn

It was driving him mad. The blade, even after the battle had ended, demanded it. Heads; it would not stop whispering to The Demoman until he beheaded another. Truly a curse; the battle between RED and BLU had ended years ago, and it was beginning to take a toll; he was almost constantly found either drinking or killing random people in Glasglow with a claymore. Something needed to be done, so the Demoman, with his family's money, decided to see a therapist. The therapist suggested that the Demoman head to Patriot City, where all manner of folk live, including magi that might help him rid himself of the curse of the blade! Perhaps, in his search for a cure to the curse, he can satisfy his carnivorous desire for beheading by unleashing the sword's wrath upon the city's criminals!

    Engineer becomes The Build Kid

The Engineer returned back to his humble home in Texas after RED shut down. His sentries and teleporters now saw seldom use since the company had shut down. The Engineer knew, however, that this wasn't the end. There were other places he could apply his mechanical genius, but where would he get the materials and income to work on his projects? After all, it was RED that supplied him with his metal. The answer lay in travelling to Patriot City, where his other prime skill, his skill with guns, could perhaps come in handy. Suiting up in an outfit that would make any Texan proud, the Engineer took the plane to Patriot city to see if he could get a good job in villain-wrangling.

    Medic becomes Ubermensch

The Medic left RED feeling terribly dissatisfied. 20 hard years of work, running around, catering to his allies' every need and wound, and what did he end up with? A few 'thank you's, a slightly above minimum-wage salary, and a lost right arm. Furthermore, he no longer had much use now that the battle was over; though medicinally competent, he was not a legalized doctor, thanks to his heinous treatment of patients in his work prior to joining RED. He continued to do his odd experiments on the only test subject he had available; himself. A few years after his first experiments, he began to develop a sort of mania; as it turned out, though many of the serums and chemicals he inserted into his body didn't visibly affect him, he was slowly becoming a powerhouse, capable of flinging electricity at frightening magnitudes. Perhaps he could now show the world his magnificence!

    Oh wow that's awesome :D
I've seen a few well done scouts and heavies before. Getting their signature moves would require leveling up a bit though, wouldn't it? Very nicely done.

Aah good memories of this game...

I remeber that game; it was my first rpg video game I ever played! I think I was 15 or 16 at the time. That was over 10 years ago:eek:. I'm gettting old. But yes very good game. It lead me in the direction to playing mmorpgs.

I might have a go at this. I've been gone for a while. I don't see the harm in making a duplicate so long as you don't actually play it.

Does d&d NOT online count? I'm more interested in the gods and goddesses in d&d. And d&d lead to the rpg video games and finally the mmorpg video games. Or maybe we should make a d&d homage thread seperate. If anyone is interested in that, I'll make a thread.

Although my favorite character I think from actuall video games might be Raziel from Soul Reaver
