Help please with my concept

Long ago when I played Champions PnP, I made a British super-hero team, led by Lionheart, who I later renamed Albion. The idea is that Britain has an eternal hero, whose spirit inhabits a person when times are dire. So far, he has been incarnated in King Alfred the Great, King Arthur of Camelot, Richard the Lionheart, Horatio Nelson and Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington to name some. Currently, he is incarnated as Albion.

Albion is a military genius and has cross-trained with the SAS, SBS, Commandos, Marines and Paras. He excels in hand-to-hand combat and is also a sharp-shooter. He wields Caledfwlch, also known as Caliburnus or more commonly Excalibur. However, the legendary sword is capable of adapting to the user, so for Albion it can transform into a high-tech blaster or an energy sword.

Now here are the problems. First of all, the power build. He is a martial artist who also uses a single gun and a sword. Laser sword suits the look best, but the single gun is an issue. I really wanted it to be a handgun, but this is impossible, as at best he would have to wield two. Sure, I could go pistols and twin blade, but this would tend to break the idea of a legendary weapon. However, I am open to suggestions of a build that follows my concept. Also I am unsure whether to go Str/Dex with Ego as a secondary and LR defence or Dex/Con with Str as a secondary and Invulnerability.

My last problem is the look:

Here are some Fabrica de Herois designs to show various looks and finally some CO ones. I tried the camo look, but I couldn't get it to work. Feel free to come up with your own ideas:

Albion 1

Albion 2

Albion 3

Albion 4

Albion 5

Albion 6

Albion 7

Albion 8

All constructive criticism welcome :)

Sonic blaster uses handgun skins. Alternatively use experimental blaster, but I don't think you can reskin it.

But what kind of martial artist are you going for? Single blade does great with invulnerability, but it sounds like you are going to keep the sword to only laser sword. Unarmed practically requires Lightning reflexes. Are you going to dip into might at all? If you do go the single blade path, you can get this energy sword. Not the best looking one, but high tech indeed. You could also pick up some ego blade attacks to simulate a sword, without the passive, they are mostly just one blade.

Oh, and if you are going to pick sonic blaster, then just get invulnerability. Most of the stuff about martial arts assumes you are picking the melee energy builder with their appropriate advantage.

Yes I considered Sonic blaster, but I want a melee energy builder really, the gun is for ranged backup and I want 100 range. I might take submachine gun for it, as there are some compact models unlockable, albeit 2 handed. Sadly, you can't reskin experimental blaster and I hate it's look. Pity, as that would be the perfect answer, as long as I could overlook the toys it can create :p

I also considered Ego blades, but using only one would gimp him a lot I feel, but 2 would not fit the concept. I really wish we could switch energy builders like the Hunters did during the Halloween event, as that is exactly what I want. Either that or allow us 2 choose a second energy builder. I suppose I could just go ego-blades and 2 gun mojo and make it so that X-Caliber, as I have renamed it, is now split into weapons, but somehow it just grates a bit.

Has anyone got any ideas on a concept twist that could better rationalise 2 guns and 2 swords? Also a design that looks good?

King Arthur had more than one sword IIRC.

I made these for you :
the first has no armor, the second does.

there was orginally more red and white, but due to the lack of a cross pattern, I had to say no to the templar theme....

I suggest having gunsliger as the enegry builder....

And a spear too. I am leaning towards dual weapons, but I have a toon Witchcraft who wields twin flintlocks and twin blades already though, hence I wish I could use single blade.

Nice concept and I like it a lot. But here again I used the celestial look for Witchcraft, but only for his chest so I will consider this.

As I mentioned, I really want a melee energy builder for the concept, although less efficient. Again Witchcraft uses guns as the main focus and I want Albion to be more melee.

Nice job, but I want to keep his face more visible, to inspire his troops and also because I picture him a bit like Captain America. Again I like elements which I may well incorporate on the final design.

Thanks all of you for your input, it is definitely helping me reach a decision. This one is giving more trouble than any as he was a favourite back in PnP days
