While I was level a(nother) alt in the starter SW zone. She actually looked quite nearly like what I have seen in the trailers. Wish I had thought to take a screenshot. Later I bumped into a male.
We're going to see a lot of blue for quite a while. Saw the movie sunday afternoon and it's pretty awesome. Very well done, I was totally immersed into the world and Na'vi culture. So of course people will honor the movie and The People in various ways.
I actually saw a Na'vi around the time the "Dances with Smurfs" episode first aired on South Park. The player even named the toon Avatar, except this "Na'vi" was rather short. So that was like late October, early November? Months before the movie, I knew we had a problem.
What's really going to kill me is how difficult it's going to be to make a Na'vi well. Not as difficult as some other things that get cloned, to be sure, but the high level of detail in the movie means that there's a lot of ground to screw up on.
Mostly the face shape (and the one posted in this thread could use a little work in that department), since they have a much more heart-shaped face than the Champions default. The body's going to be easier, but a lot of people will still be too lazy to go for that long, tall, and leanly muscled look, and will just turn up the height and limb lengths without adjusting any of the other sliders.
This is going to frustrate me to no end, since I loved the models in the movie and thought that they had a really cool look. Too many half-assed clones will make me want to gouge my eyes out for the next month or two, I'm sure.
I made one, who looks pretty good at it. I saw the movie, and couldnt resist the urge. Im also making a supergroup for those i find actually do a good job with theirs. I am not a fan of clones AT ALL. But for some reason, i could help myself. On another note though. We are not focusing on those from the movie. We are simply expanding the ideal of the culture displayed in the film. If anyone wants in, let me know.
i saw you in the power house boots that was an awesome looking navi.
Thank you, i still think i have just a litltle tweaking to do, but i have the movie on my xbox now so ill just pause it and edit from a still shot. Anyhow, if your interested in the SG please let me know.

This site has some good shots, might be easier than pausing a movie on your X-box.
Yes, i did use that site for my ceremonial shot. But if you have the movie on a screen here, might as well just hit the pause for a second hahahaha. Anyhow, she is finished now. And im quite proud of my work.

Might have been the same one I saw. Whoever did the female obviously put a good bit of effort into it.
I can appreciate a well done homage.
You could use the feline face. They had a cat type nose.
