"There is this story my grandfather once told me about this guy who became immortal. Supposedly, some guy was born in the 1830s. He was very skilled in all forms of art from music to painting. He lived a life of luxoury and was quite the ladies man. The story says that one day this all changed when a man visited his home. He claimed that he could paint twice as well as the young gentleman, and challenged him. Of course, the young man, quite sure of his skill, readily accepted. The two painted for days until finally they presented their work. The young man drew a beautiful painting of a field that brought tears to the eye. When he looked at the other man's painting, he was shocked. It was a picture of the young man standing in his house except... the house was in ruins and barely standing. He asked the man what was the meaning of the painting, but he said nothing. He just left with his painting still in the young man's home. The years dragged on and the man grew quite old. Until a night came when he felt intense pains. He screamed and yelled until his servant came running into the room. He grabbed the servant and the servant screamed as he shriveled up into an old husk. The man watched in horror as the servant died. He ran into the bathroom and looked into the mirror. He was just as young as the day when the two men presented their work. As the process continued over the decades, he realized that he needed more and more people in order to stay immortal. He couldn't kill that many innocents. It was not his way. And so he used his dark powers only on the wicked and evil."
