Deff Tech Beginnings

Tim Deffner is brilliant young inventor that graduated from MIT at the top of his class. After graduation, he was recruited into the government to create weapons to combat super villain incursions. His first invention was a robotic suit with an artificial intelligence. The artificial intelligence was coded to be able to analyze the villains from existing psychological profiles. This suit was to be the ultimate weapon against the villains all that was needed was to find a suitable pilot. One night Dr. Deffner left the suit connected to a workstation, as it was uploading the Psychological profiles of the super villain database. During the transfer the labs network was breached by a particularly malicious virus, which worked its way into the robotic armor.

The next morning, Dr. Deffner returned to the lab not aware of the network security. With him came a young Navy Captain named Joshua Miles, the military’s choice in pilots for the new armor.

“Well here it is..,” Dr. Deffner pulls a tarp off the suit loaded with several different types of weaponry. Captain Miles, examines the armor, with great intrigue, ignoring the specifications, that the doctor was telling him.

“This armor has a special villain database installed into the system. It gives the weaknesses of all documented super villains and their pyschological profile.”, gloats the Dr. Deffner. “This is impressive work doctor,” Joshua responds as he pulls the lever, that opens the cockpit.

“Getting impatient are we?”, Dr. Deffner says with a smirk on his face, as he begins pressing keys on his keyboard to power up the armor. Joshua Miles climbs in side the armor and places his arms and legs in proper areas. The suit closes up around him and lights start coming on inside the armor. Suddenly, red alerts start flashing, and on the heads-up display the Psychological Profiles start displaying and mixing together. The artificial intelligence voice kicks in and a very evil voice, “Thank you host... now enjoy the ride.” Evil laughter ensues inside the cockpit. Back in the lab the armor powers up and begins detaching from the docking station.

The armor incorporates Dr. Deffner’s brilliant weaponry designs for lasers, guns, and flight devices. The armor begins moving and running test on all external devices, as all devices started moving on the suit. “Hows it feeling?, Dr. Deffner asks. The suit turns back to see the glass eyes staring down at the Doctor. “Never better,” responds the armor in the evil AI voice. The armor lifts its arm and once of the special lasers extend pointing directly at the Dr.

“Captain Miles what in the hell are you doing? Don’t point that at me.”, responds Dr. Deffner to the behavior of the armor. “Captain Miles is not here right now, only Collective.” Evil laughing in the robotic voice of the AI. The laser fires at the doctor, and he jumps out of the way. Dr. Deffner attempts to run to the docking computer, but to only watch it be incinerated by a laser beam. The doctor watched helplessly as the armor destroyed the lab hangar bay door and start its jet boosters and fly off. After the armor was gone, was the first he realized that the base alarms were blaring from the laser fire. In minutes the lab is filled with several marines.

Dr. Deffner was questioned for hours on the firepower, and circumstances of the armor and of its escape. He knew his career was over, and now instead of creating a machine to stop super villains, he had allowed a new villain to take his armor. He returned to his lab and sat down at his desk to determine how he is going to resolve this situation he created. He began crafting a new suit. This suit purpose is to increase strength of his body and to heal his body faster. He created specialized boots that would increase his running speed that could rival Kinetik. On the arm of his suit, he placed a satellite uplink to the robotic military satellite, which gave him access to the Orbital Cannon, and the robotic teleporter. By pressing a few buttons on his arm, 2 robotic munitions bots materialize in front of him awaiting commands. Again, he pressed some buttons and watched this get teleported back to the satellite. Also he crafted another attachment to his right glove, turning it into a chainsaw gauntlet. Next, he created a sonic blaster, and modified it with a miniaturization drive, turning it into a shrink ray.

Dr. Deffner, now “Deff Tech”, now had the tools he needed to search out Collective and any other villain that might stand in his way. Deff Tech became a superhero, because of his own arrogance and ignorance, had created another villain in this world. He felt he has an obligation to help protect the world and not create any more villains in it.
