CORE vs the World

After CORE announced their plans to the world, many nations send their armies and Superheroes to deal with the threat.
Anticipating this, CORE dug in deep and prepared for any assault.
PLUTO knew some of the worlds most brilliant strategists and scientists who stayed loyal to them even after they became CORE.
With their combined intellect and experience they formed some of the worlds most advanced large scale anti assault defenses. Allowing them to isolate large groups of soldiers only to take them down one by one.
Seeing that sending a large number of troops didnt work, the world went over to high tech solutions. Sending their most advanced fighter jets, bombers, navy and tank forces.
Their biggest flaw was that choose to fight CORE on their terms. Heath counters prevented bombers to get a target lock
The American Navy was pushed back with EMP mines, cutting off all the power to their ships, leaving them sitting ducks in the water.
The German tank force was driven back due too the difficult terrain and cluster ballistics which created craters large enough for the tanks to get stuck in.
A tight base security prevented any Spec-ops from entering the base. The Russians witnessed that firsthand when their Spetsnaz got ambushed and put in a boat back to shore.
CORE felt unstoppable, that was until the Heroes arrived. Chinas Tiger Squad struck first and caused millions of base damage and unit loss.
After that the United Kingdom struck with their Knights of the Round Table. They wiped out all of COREs anti-air, leaving them vulnerable to gunships.

To everyones surprise, these troops were almost immediately eliminated when a super powered human known as Knight stepped in and fought side by side with CORE.
COREs goals were to unite the world and that way remove all war and hunger in the world. Many Heroes felt that their eventual goal was righteous and chose to not fight CORE unless theyd threat innocent civilians.
The world lost their superhero allies in their fight against CORE and eventually called for a ceasefire.
COREs non-lethal way of fighting (EMP, stun guns, rubber bullets) had been one of the reasons why many super powered humans chose their side. In their war against the world claimed a surprising low amount of causalities.
The same couldnt be said about COREs side. The many attacks on their stronghold had skyrocketed their causality rate. A wound they would never fully recover from.
Although CORE is by many still considered one of the worlds most elite organizations, they switched over from Riot Control specialization to politics.
They now hold seats in every major political organizations around the world.
CORE isnt recognized by any country and is therefore independent. Most of its members are from American or European origin.
Even though there are still debates about CORE, the fragile ceasefire is the only thing preventing another large scale war.
