New character concept help?

Hello. For a while I've been interested in making a character with an original concept. I've been interested in the Silver Age and super-soldier type character. If you have any tips please let me know.

Silver Age makes me think of simple but flashy costumes. Tights, more often than not. Tall, well-built, and muscular.

For a super-soldier, first "inspiration" that jumps to mind is some kind of experiment (serum, radiation, magical) by a small organization (defense contractor, secret Army command, mystical coven) that ends up successful, but hugely costly, perhaps putting the organization out of business and putting their experiment into cryogenic storage until they can raise enough money to resume operations. From there it's obvious: Either another organization takes over, or the cryogenic storage finally loses power/funding and the experiment is unleashed, or what have you.

I think it'd be kind of cool if it involved magic, since it'd be a really different take on the "super soldier" mythos, but hopefully this helps inspire you.
