Costume Help?

Help me, Fan Base Alpha, you're my only hope.

I've been fighting with the character creator for two days, trying to nail the look for my latest hero, Big Brother. Capsule summary: he's the son of a 70s street-level black hero who has inherited his father's size-changing abilities and name. So I've really been trying to nail a good 70s black super-hero look...and I have failed miserably.

So I'm here to beg: can anyone offer me some costume advice? Here is his first costume:

Costume 1

And here's a revision i did last night:

Costume 2

Things I like about these:
1.) The head: I do like the bald + goatee + domino mask. That's about the only thing these costume have going for them.

2.) I kind of like the collar, but I'm not married to it.

I hate just about everything else. Well, I don't HATE it, but I don't like it -- it's dull.

Things I would like the costume to have:
1.) I like a predominantly black color scheme, I think. But I'm not married to that, either.
2.) I would like, somewhere, for it to say "I change size" or "I am gigantic". I could not find a chest pattern or emblem that said that, even remotely. There are the up-and-down arrows emblem, but it's awfully busy with those dippy little circles on it.
3.) It should look quasi-retro. I'm going for "slightly modern revision of 70s blaxploitation hero". Which is, I know, ridiculously specific.
4.) It probably should not be street clothes. Honestly, I just like tights, or something more costume than clothes.

I tried to find a way to make that list sound not pretentious, and came up short. I know that this is a ridiculously specific request, but then I have ridiculously specific tastes, and I don't want to waste anyone's time. And, hey, if anyone else wants some painfully opinionated help on their costume I'd be happy to reciprocate.

Thanks!
SB
