Well think what many speedsters wear - they tend to wear very sleek looking gear. Try to stay away from thunder bolts of lightning because your probably keep ending up looking like flash - my speedster she has lightning but I wanted her that way.

Model him after tires or a race track. For some reason Kirby's Wheel power came to mind when I saw this thread. The one where he turns into a tire and speeds across the stage killing things.

Unfortunately, the server just went down, or I could post a screenshot.

I can't remember which costume set it is (either Retro Future or Art Deco), but there's a half helmet with a bisecting fin that looks to me like a hood ornament, and which I have been dying to use on a speedster (unfortunately, I already have too many melee characters cookin').

Were I to do a car themed character (great idea, by the way), I would go with a hot rod motif: that helmet for the head over a partial mask, and a candy apple red suit in metal with no belt (going for sleekness). Add either stripes or flames as a highlight (probably stripes -- the in-game flames are too busy). Gloves and boots in metallic silver (for chrome). Maybe some chrome shoulder pads to complete the look.

That's just off the top of my head -- it may look like **** in-game.

Edit: The helmet I'm talking about is this one, but in half-helmet (so you can see the bottom of his face and his eyes)

Well, if I would create such a kind of character I would start with a few point:
    • Leather
    • Helmet
    • Leather boots
    • Leather gloves (mitten or such)
    • Black belt with a big belt buckle.

Then I would try to add some fins to the helmet to test if they look good.
It then would depend on the look. To become more heroe-looking try to add signs or some pattern. Flames could be fine if used carefully.
If "it" should look more rough, I would go for iron looking pads on the shoulders or on the knees. Maybe the iron chain could be used.
I even could imagine a "Tron" look, like black leather and blue or green stripes.

Here's what I was thinking of. I'm a costume minimalist, so it may not be to your taste.

Just so you know... I think that costume is fantastic.

Maybe it's the red but it reminds me of Kinetik too much.

Well, my parents are visiting me currently. So I don't have that much time but I tried to shape two characters. The first is the "rough" typeas seen in many movies. The second is more "heroe" like (in my opinion). I'm not satisfied with the second one but I run out of time ;)

Maybe you find some parts you like and can use.

For something more humourous, you could see about the traffic cone unlock on the PTS tomorrow (the 16th). :)

That is a good idea. With the Cyborg head and a forehead emblem, you could probably create a pretty compelling crash test dummy.

Shame I'm at work...I'd love to try it.
