i was wondering if any lvl 40's could answer somethin im wonderin about. in the end game, do you have plenty of room to get your crafting to the highest skill lvl and then pick up a second crafting profession. is there much time to raise a second crafting lvl real high. or do you generaly stay with one crafting even at end game.
im wondering how the lvl 40's feel about this and weather or not they feel it is worth it. or if you think the average person would just make say science to skill 400. and not waste the time with getting say arms skill to 400 both at end game (1 growing throu8gh career)
Remember that you can only have one skill at a time and that switching skills resets you to Skill 1 with a cap of 100. You do not regain your original skill level if you switch back.
As the previous poster pointed out, you can only have one crafting skill above zero at a time.
I generally ignore crafting in the end game.
Since crafting offers few rewards and even those shrink in the end game, there really is no incentive to dump your skill and start fresh.
The average person should be able to max out their crafting score without effort. I've never been a serious crafter in any MMO and I hit 400 @ 39th level. I didn't go far out of my way to hit the cap. I basically stopped for resource nodes on my travels between missions and researched most of rewards of my crafting type that I didn't use immediately.
Once I hit 400, I looked for things to make and found very little of interest. Since then, I haven't really bothered at all with the skill.
ah ok. well i knew that you loose all your skill when you change but, i thought i read somewhere once you learn something you always will know how to do it? brings me to another question can you break down stuff that aint in your crafting style, if you dump your craft? because if you retain all the stuff you leaqrn but j8st loose skill all lvl then you would need components to make your original gear if you wantedf to make somthin.
i may be wrong on the you always will know how to make X" if you learn it just loose all skill.
but anyways what is everyones else opinion on the useing more then one skill? i im not 40 yet so i dont know but so far ivb planned on just stayin with one skill.
hmm dont ignore crafting you can actualy make some pretty handy stuff for pvp like strong holds/stuns/energy blockers etc you just need to find the right crafting skill.
depending of crafting gear for pvp means you can spend power and advantages on other skills etc,
see what im getting at ?
also gives you something to do for end game a little to farm junk to break down for matts for crafting your pvp gear

I don't PVP. I'm really bad at it and don't have the interest to get bettter. I prefer cooperative play in MMO's. There is enough competition in my "real" life.
craqfted enhancements are the best. but i picked the wrong thing for my build. had a rnaged charcter in mind and wanted my psi- ranged toon and picked science thinking range ect. with ego/con SS. so i see some gerat stuff just not for me. and im wondering since its fairly easy to skill up if maybe once a power is learned it can never be forgotten so if you learn and buy all the powers at skill 400 i just wondered if it be a grind to know everything in a second profession to. or would it be way to much time.
also i do wonder say someone did that. (not saying im gonna just depends( but say someone did that learned all science bought all the things ect. well once elarned you always know so if you switched to say arms. would you still be able to break down sceicne geaqr for components for science stuff you can still make or have learned prior to earasing your 400skill lvl to build a arms since you learned all the science3.

That is true, you won't forget your learned blueprints.
However, to use a blueprint you need a) the correct Skill* and b) enough Skill levels of it. So if you switch Skill (and not just specialization) your old blueprints will be unavailable unless you decide to switch back and regain the Skill level needed.
*Specialization is unimportant when crafting, it is only used to learn new blueprints.
You can only max out your crafting in your crafting tree (Science, Arms or Mysticism) If your arms and you picked up Ordinance, you can get ordinance to 400 then you could go ahead and learn Alien Metabolism or Fighting Styles and get those to 400 since you only need "Arms (Insert Level) to actually craft any of the arms blue prints.
