These are issues I've run into when running instances that makes the experience less enjoyable. I'll try to keep it relatively brief and to the point.
Need/Greed loot mode:
- Doesn't always work (keep restarting, no one appears to win).
- When it works, it's unclear who won the item. It briefly flashes on the dialog itself but it closes so fast you can't really see it.
- Should post a message with the winner in the chat (preferably with the "rolls" since it gives a better feeling than "Joe won the item").
Master Loot mode:
- Last I dared try it (several patches ago) assigning loot crashed the game.
- No way to link the item being looted to the team last I checked (couldn't drag it to the chat box).
General looting issues:
- No /roll command makes it rough to "greed" an item no one wants when using master loot. Specifically it's not possible to do in-game in any way.
- When someone is assigned or wins a piece of loot, they aren't given the loot. They need to pick it up. This is confusing and not obviously stated. Also means you have to hang around the entity that dropped the loot piece (if you even know where it is).
Combined the issues above makes round robin the only really viable loot mode. This of course is flawed since you only have a 20% chance to get a BoP item and the chance of the winner not needing the item is much greater (vs no one in the team needing it). For me personally it really hurts my enjoyment of or motivation to play the any 5-man instances.

I would hope that the loot interface will be more polished before valuable items are introduced in game. I would just hate to see player grievances to be unresolved due to loot issues if the interface can be fixed beforehand.
It's an unfortunate side effect of how the game makes - item upgrades are at best lackluster. It's not really exciting to pick up a new item. Although in theory it might change in the next patch, picking up a bit of int, dex and/or ego is useless if they aren't your superstats. Rec, End and Con are the only stats that are useful regardless of superstats.
