Right when I hit 31 on my main I went to the bank and got all the stuff I had been saving up to disassemble. I had hit the 2nd cap about 26-7 so it was a fair amount of stuff. After I purchased the cap unlock and starting feeding the table, I noticed I wasn't getting anything for it 9 times out of 10. At almost 34 this is still the case. I've had 2, maybe 3 items that netted me 3/5 since 31. About 90% net me 0, second place is 1/5. I've not seen 4/5 or 5/5 since 31. Its also being stingy with the component pick-up stat bonuses. Is this "working as inteneded"? There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it; white, blue, my lvl, 5 lvls up, or 2 lvls back...
Was level 31 and trained to 301-400 range. deconstructed what I had and got some nice things and a few more points.
Then I did several missions, netting me level 32 items, which I didnt bother to check until I hit 32.
Once that happened I replaced the upgrades that was better and then went to the crafting table. Feeding it around 15 items, all level 32. And the best I could get was 4/5 after feeding the table all the items at once. Most gave 0/5 and a few gave 1/5 (but only after feeding 4-5 of them to push it above the bar.
When you first learn a crafting ability, pretty much everything pushes you to 4/5 or 5/5 from 1 or 2 items, but as you progress to higher tiers, you need loads of even level stuff to even get 1/5.
I did make a few items to skill up to 315. Making it gave me 1 point 313-314, went to deconstruct it, and got 0/5 for it. It was a skillevel 310 item.
I recall doing the same at lower tiers and getting 5/5 from it.
Farm the Ice Demons in North Canada for lvl 36 drops in your low 30s if you are intent on leveling your crafting fast. Worked for me, easy mobs, lots of drops. Boring as hell
White drops net you zero points and few components. To get ANY help on the skill progression, you need to feed it the yellows (barely ok), greens (ok), and blues (best).
I usually look over the table after I've tossed a bunch of white items to see if I'd rather sell the item or research it. Usually, I just research it, even if I only get ONE component from it. Sometimes you get a PROFUNDITY (of a higher level) which can be helpful.

Not entirely true. You just need to make sure that your starts are higher. you could feed it a ton of whites and get the same level up from a single blue.
But yes, the higher the rarity the better the deconstruction value
there seems to be some sort of difference between level 35 and level 36+ items to me.. or maybe i jsut got a bunch of common drops but.. when I do 36+ drops I get regular looking numbers 1-4/5.. when I do 30-35 drops it looks like i'm doing level 20 drops.

srsly tho? I had no idea you could do that, how did i miss that...?
