I noticed sometime last week that Serum, major enhancement for Science, available at lvl 390 skill, was finally listed as other than "test", which means, by the way, don't buy the enhancement blueprint yet, it doesn't do anything.
Except it still doesn't. Whole reason I started a character in Science was the description from the crafter said that it gave a completely rounded selection of stats (which it doesn't, great for Int, Con, Ego, and Rec though. The rest are sort of there, but not equal by any means), and for the passive healing from Serum.
Worked on getting him to 31. Check.
Spent a day not leveling, just grinding science up to 390. Check.
Got my grubbies on 2 of the Pulsons, rare component to make high-end blues. VERY pricey, but only had to buy one, as I was lucky enough to get one of them from a skill object.
Alright, all set, YES!
So I get myself to the trainer, buy the blueprint, and hit the table. Finally, my LR guys gonna get a tiny bit of regen love. Good thing I checked the result preview before I wasted the mats for a rare craft. The prefix showed in the preview, but no text for the Serum, other than in the title.
Quick note; Accordind to the blueprint text, Serum is supposed to return a small amount of health (around 50 points on a lvl 31 item, guessing from the returns seen on dropped items), no more than every three seconds. Only available as major enhancement on in defensive item, so you can only have one. Certainly not OP, probably under-powered, but still better than the return health on kill enhancements, or, you know, nothing.
With a sinking feeling, I crafted a low end version of the item, equipped it and tested it out. Found a group of low level henchmen, took out all but one, and let him pummel on me for a bit. When blocking, there was absolutely no regen. Disappointing. Okay, maybe that doesn't count as taking damage, according to the item. Turned off energy builder and released block. Still no item heals. After carfully watching the combat log for about a minute, had to kill him because I was near death myself.
The mechanic is there, both for Serum and Elixir (the Mystic version of the enhance, although it still lists as "test"), as it will show up on quest rewards and random drops (often with things like Int enhancements, which do no good if it's not your superstat).
Very disappointed, but hopefully this post will save someone else some trouble, if they want the same thing.
Can someone confirm for me if the endurance reducing modifiers are working?
And if so, how to tell what category a power falls into?
The one I'm most concerned with, Force Cascade, is a ranged attack, that affects an area (column), that has a soft-CC effect (knockback).
Now, I've seen from other testing (what counts as AOEs?) that its not an AOE.
Im told that it counts as crowd control, for purposes of the Support Stance END reduction.
But do we know what it counts as for purposes of Item Effect END reduction? (I had originally wanted to stack INT for the end reduction, bu the charming 'increasing returns' formula means go huge on INT (around 200), or dont go at all))
Sorry, Marcus, I'd test it if I could, but none of my heros use force cascade (and gold is still to dear to retcon even one power for testing).
On the bright side, Int seems to actually be useful now, even the base 10 showed a reduction (albiet very minor, around .6, but still there!) on the level 31 I was just on.
