Is there any way we can get more colors in the color picker?
An advanced color picker option that lets us pick from the full RGB palette is all that we really need for costume pieces and skin. I have a plant character who I'm trying to make it look like he has bark, but instead it's so dark that I get comments like "Nice necromancer" because it's too dark or "Why does your stone skin look tan?" because it's too light. I can't get the right shade of brown to pull off the illusion. It's very frustrating.
I know novice costume designers might not want the full range, and having a limited selection helps them make their costumes look good, but the more experienced costume designers are suffering.
Please, please, add an advanced color picker option.
I believe in a recent dev chat (sorry I don't have a link on hand, at work atm) they said they were working on adding more colors as well as white/black. It's not currently available I think because they only do tints right now and not hue? (I maybe be misremembering the actual wording, but it is something along those lines).
Oh sweet awesome. I remember when I first started COH the color palette seemed fine, but after about a year it was really limiting. Coming into this with a limited palette really confused me. I can't wait till they add more colors!
I wait I just realized. They were probably talking about power color because that is only hue and doesn't have black or white. The palette they give us for costumes does have black and white.
The costume colours are limited to prevent players from making "naked-seeming" characters so the game could get a TEEN rating from the ESRB. The colours in the skin picker cannot be repeated in the costume picker.
In your specific case, I guess cryptic figures browns are more likely to be used for skin tones than costumes.
I was afraid that would be part of the motive. Still the colors are overly limited compared to what needs to be done to prevent the appearance of nudity.
Also the limited variation for brown is consistent with the limited variation for all of the other colors.
