Bind a tell to a power?

what the title says. Except that there is a twist.

I use a Xbox controller
*pause for surprise*

I like to rp and I am even tinkering for a costume change with emote and tell (wich I didn't succeed to do at the moment)

I don't care to press a key on my keyboard for costume change (always better than riglt clickin' my face and clicking costume change\Costume #2 but if I plan on binding tells to my attack it HAS to be on my controller.

I think the buttons are something like "joypad#1" for the A button or soemthing (I know I can look up those things around) I'm just not THAT good with binds. In CoX it was relatively easy since you even had examples and help in the help menu.

Thanks.

Edit: The costume change is on it's way. I can do it but for some reason my character says his tell twice....

I'm gonna write the line here.

/bind [ "+powertrayexec 4$$local Henshin!$$em <emote>"

I haven,t decided wich emote to do. I want that "threaten" pose from the RMC but no emote named "threaten" works. If anyone can help...

Oh and I am still seeking help to bind tells to powers.... actually I just need to know how do I write the controller buttons... y'know as the key to bind...

It says the tell twice because once is you sending it and another recieving it. A simple way of note getting thbe double spam is to make a chat channel for that charecter alone and enable it in whatever tab you want then instead of
    tell @player, <text>
    you would use
    chan <channame> <text>

    Thanks.

but I didn,t entirely get the part where you said to do a channel and enable it in whatever tab I wanted it in.

It'll probably be much more clearer when I'll log on tomorrow and try it though.

So I create a channel and I enable it in local chat? Shouldn't be too hard.

BTW people I'm still asking about how to bind to controller buttons. I think I saw something like 'AB' for the A button 'BB' for the B button and so on...

and anyone knows about the 'threaten' pose from RMC? Is it a usable emote in-game? I tried point but it's not the same.

I know I'm asking a lot but instead of creating more threads I prefer to keep everything here.

Basicly which ever tab you want to see the message spam pop up in, combat, chat....whatever enable the new global chat channel to show up in and when you use the bind you will see your message there.

Okay. I will see it but will everyone around me? I'm pretty sure they will but I'd prefer to be sure and since the zervers weren't up when I woke up, I never could try it.

As long as your the only player as a member of the channel you will be the only one to see it. Alternatively you could use /playersay to pop a chat bubble up which only you can see.

I see. I'd prefer for other people to be able to see it.

I don,t want to annoy them so I won't change every 10 seconds but when RPing you're supposed to let everyone know.

I think it only did one bubble before I added a powertrayexec in the bind. Could there be some kind of interruption? I would be playing with this if the servers were up.

I dont know if this would work but you could try it like this if you just want it to send a tell to the player you have targeted:

    "TargetTeammate 1$$+PowerTrayExec <slot # of heal>$$tell $player heal incoming!"

** I stole neeyon's example from another thread and switched group for tell thus the reason why you see TargetTeammate1$$**

could work, however, I'd like to say it in local chat.

and since I might costume change right before a battle.... I prefer not having to target my friend(s) in order for them to hear that I am "tranforming"

I changed the order and now it works with local.

And thanks Neeyon. I saw the buttons and it's like I thought AB is for the A button.

I can successfuly change costume with a cool effect, a tell and an emote.
