Stats,Caps,& Crafting

What i know (or what i think i know anyway):

Bonus damage from strength caps @ 20% which is not a nerf imo as you can end up super stating 2 other things & still get the strength cap via gear+talents i take it, which gives you 3 capped stats win win & win.

(I have since been corrected & this seems to be how it works: The STR bonus to melee damage is separate from the superstat damage bonus, so if str is your superstat you can get 32% to all damage+20% to melee damage. Thank you Mors-Subita)

Bonus damage from other stats cap @ 30% or is it 32%? (its 32%)

At lvl 40 212 is the max for your supers stats (conformation? & is this each or 106 for each one)

Lots of threads i'm reading are upset over the latest crafting changes.

I'm behind on this subject as i have been going by this:

Arms:

Utility: No PRE
Defense: No EGO, END, INT, PRE
Offense: No PRE

Science:

Utility: No PRE
Defense: No DEX, REC, STR
Offense: No PRE

Mysticism:

Utility: No CON
Defense: No CON, DEX, REC, STR
Offense: No CON

My super stats are Rec/Pre so i took Mysticism. Made since to me to take somthing that I could craft (+)s for my super stats with.

Am i wrong is this line of thinking?

Will i not need gear to reach the new caps?

I'm only at 207 Mysticism & i don't want to waste more time lvling up somthing that isn't going to help me.

I'm not the type to bust out excel spread sheets, but i just might have too.

Please share your links, information, experiance on this matter as the changes have me a little confused.

Help!

And thanks for reading.

I'm in a similar situation. I'm not sure I have a good handle on the stat relationships with the different crafting focuses anymore. I was just trying to do some research when I came across this thread. So, I've nothing helpful to add unfortunately, but eagerly await someone who does. ^_^

    Thanks.

The STR bonus to melee damage is separate from the superstat damage bonus, so if str is your superstat you can get 32% to all damage+20% to melee damage.

+damage % is capped and the cap scales with level.
    the max +damage % is 32%

At each level the stat cap to reach 32% goes up... I am compiling a full list, but it seems pretty linear right now. for an example:

    lvl 16 - cap = 81
    lvl 17 - cap = 86
    lvl 18 - cap = 90
    lvl 19 - cap = 95
    lvl 20 - cap = 99

The values might actually be 80, 85, 90, 95, and 100, but because of the way you can't see fractions and it rounds off on the display I am not sure. When I dropped my stat to 80, my bonus went to 31%, so 32% is exactly at 81 in my test. I did not test using multiple sets of gear that can add up to 80 though...

So right now, the best you can do is 64% bonus to all damage, or 84% bonus to melee damage, if you are melee.

And there are a lot of items that bosst melee further, making it extremely powerful...

I haven't really read the replies, but the stats aren't capped, the dmg bonus from superstatting is capped.

Good point Mortimon, but what good reason is their to stat over the damage cap?

So, has anyone yet bit the bullet and done the testing to determine the required STR for the 20% bonus at 40?
