Hello everyone. I'm Killjoy, but the name was either taken or invalid when I created my account so call me Boomzilla. I haven't said hi 'till now because I came to this game just before Open Beta and I've been taking the time to learn stats, powers and combat, but I have been posting in the Powers section.

I've always gamed but I only started MMOs recently when a few friends press-ganged me into WoW, where I learned that I'm casual even by the standards of other casual players - I like to call myself terminally casual. Once WoW lost my interest I reviewed the list of other MMOs, didn't see anything that grabbed me, and decided to keep my ear to the ground for new projects (my old friend Sam McGrath is the driving force behind Project Offset, btw, but Intel wasn't going to release it before end of year or I would have held out).

And lo and behold, I heard news of CO. The superhero/cel shade/comic look grabbed my interest but the deciding factor was really the classless open framework, and so far I haven't been disappointed. Lots of MMOs use minigames for content, but to me CO is metagaming - with every new character you're literally designing a new class with internal synergies and weaknesses, attack styles, defense flavors and so on.

My toons so far come from characters I've been writing and gaming for years. Adam Wakefield's base is in fiction - he was born from creative writing sessions with a friend, in which we made alternate-universe versions of ourselves and people we knew and placed them in the context of a group of time travellers who have all gotten to know one another as their paths have crossed. Because he's always been part me, Lord Wakefield is very dear to my heart and it's an absolute blast to see him "in the flesh" and wielding exactly the right weapons.

Mr. Black started out as a PnP character for Vampire: The Masquerade, and in this incarnation he was a double agent working for the government. Years later I repurposed him as a fictional character for the Chatsubo, a menacing suit with cybernetic strength and implanted senses who works for the United Nations Security Agency, and if you can access old alt.cyberpunk.chatsubo posts you'll find a few tales about him.

Did I say I was terminally casual? Those are my only two serious characters so far, and they're 21 and 17 respectively. Obviously I'm not going to win any prizes for log time, but if you run into Adam Wakefield or Mr. Black in-game, feel free to group or ask for help. I don't log in to powerlevel, I'm here to play.
