What am I doing wrong

Crafty Cont/Conv Ican't make the radiation/cold shield. I went though and did it with my main 2 weeks ago no prob. So now I want to go through with my alts and for some reason I'm missing something on the crafty quests and I can't figure it out. I get the 3 peices of...what ever they are. And then I talk to the trainer (in both Canada and the desert the weapon trainer) They give me the Lead shield/Thermal plate (I think) I go over the crafting station and I can't make either shield. I tried buying blue prints and changing proffesions. I go talk to the trainer again and he/she just says "Oh I see your still working on the lead plate/thermal plate." What the H E x2 Hockey sticks am I missing?

    did you check for the blue print in you inventory that you get when you take the mission from the craftsman?

    Hmmm, I did not... If it's there should I double click it to learn it?

    I just checked my inventory it's there. Man I feel like an idot. These new fangled games and their quests.

    Unfortunately even with the text in the mission it is hard for people to realize they need to do it. If I ever get giant popup pictures for the tutorial, there will be ones showing folks where to look for the blueprint.

    Since all the blueprints we buy from craft NPCs in the game are auto learned, why aren't these?

    Perhaps 'learn Blueprint' should be a step in the quest, rather than going straight to 'make item'?

    Because players need to learn how to learn Blueprints they find in the wild too, and because the quest doesn't have the ability to "teach" it.

    hmmm I thought that was the only drop blueprint.. at least so far int he game its the only one I've ever encountered...

    AFAIK you are correct, they never drop.

    I've had a blueprint drop - it was a mid 300s Science drop. I was on my Mysticism character so sent it to an alt.

    Go beat up some Destroids near Harmond Co, there's a nifty Destroid Gun Drone blueprint.

    Also, the Giant Destroid likes to drop a Surge Protector schematic.
