Looking for guidance on using a Primary Offense item

I looted an item that doesn't seem to be a power replacer of any kind and it goes in my "Primary Offense" slot. However, when I am in combat, clicking it has absolutely no effect so I can figure out how to use the nice shiny gun I picked up.

It's not affecting any of my other powers so I just can't figure out how to use it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Surely someone, developer or otherwise, knows how to use these items?

It could be that it's one of the 'unmarked' power replacers, in this case for Sniper Rifle.
In that case, it'd only work if you have that specific power.

Nope. It is an item with a power of its own. If you look at the keys for your items, they have their own shortcut buttons (8, if I remember correct for the Offence). If you click/press that, the power attached to the item goes off.

I do find it a bit awkward to reach but most of them seem to have long cooldowns so I only use them occasionally.

That is not an activated item, it is a power replacement for the sniper rifle power. The odd thing about it is that it is so low level. I'm guessing it unlocked a costume piece for you?

Any primary upgrade ability with an Endurance cost is a Power Replacer.

    This is no exception.

Oh, ok. I thought that all power replacers would actually call out that they replaced an item and display which they replaced. When I didn't see anything on this item listing that I thought it was a click-to-use item.

Thank you for clearing that up.

Sniper Rifle can't have it's appearance changed at the moment. There are a few power replacers for it out there but none of them change what it looks like just what it does.
