via power replacers, does only the gun itself change? I'm wondering if my munitons charater unlocks a raygun, will he now fire lasers as weel, or just the standard bullet graphics?

While you have it equipped some power replacers do change the firing FX as well - most in fact change what type of damage gets dealt and adds secondary effects. For instance the Screech Owl pistol adds a good chance to stun the target.

However the effects only show while the item is equipped and they do not scale with your level atm, so eventually you will need to unequip them or lose a lot of damage.

So If (for example) you take the Qularr pistol, and go to the tailor and change the appearance then unequip the replacer, you will start shooting normal bullets from the qularr pistol?

One other thing I've noticed (and I'm curious if anyone else has) is that Power Replace equipment will REMOVE some native power Advantages. For example, if at level 17 I slot the Gadroon pistol power replace, it adds a fair amount of damage, but my Tread Softly advantage for Lead Tempest no longer works. I no longer get the Dodge and Avoidance bonuses. As soon as I remove the Gadroon pistol power replace, the Dodge and Avoidance bonuses are back. So it's always a trade-off.

I hope it is a big to be honest since the extra damage will only be there till about lvl 18 - after that the damage falls way below that of the unmodded power
