WTB: Weapon Replacer

Firstly, if another character crafted a lvl 32 weapon replacer, and I bought it, although I would not be able to use it, would adding it to inventory still cause the costume unlock?

If so, then I'm hoping there may be a market for concept characters - many of the weapon model costume unlock items do not appear in the game until level 32-40. If any crafters wanted to run a business, this would be one way to gain a few customers - myself included.

I hate the thought of having to watch my concept character live through 30+ levels before he can actually look like his concept :/

((If anyone can craft level 390+ science weapon replacers and would be interested in selling such, please let me know.))

The monster island crisis seems to drop level-less weapon replacers. Mostly blade ones from what I've encountered though.

Just need to figure out what unlocks what and see if its possible to repeat the crisis and it may be possible to get up a large stock of level-less weapon upgrades to give to new characters. The auction house is in a... incomplete state right now so its hard to really find specific stuff. Also the prices are insane. Really insane.

It looks like people are just throwing out various random stuff at insane prices and then just thinking "well maybe some high lvl will just buy this for charity and it will finance my career".

I cant seem to think of any other sensible reason why people would do this. But hey, for many players, rape and exploitation are job #1, and this could just be their way of trying to create a skewed economy.

You have to Bind the item to get the costume unlock.

For mission rewards this means getting the item (since they're BoP), for crafted and normal drops this means equipping the item.

Note that a recent patch changed the mission rewards from BoE to BoP, so you can find some of them on the AH, buying them will Bind them since they've been changed to BoP. Items that are currently meant to be BoE will stay that way, until someone equips them, regardless of how they are transfered.

I found this out a dew days ago but it seems you can repeat the crisis. There should be a totem on the beach where you started that is all glowie like and when you click it Zap! back to the crisis.

Ah.. well I just read a thread about a "bind on equip stealth nerf" which removes the bind on inventory situation I was accustomed to, and which WingedKagouti explained.

This effectively invalidates my request and the purpose of this thread.

I didn't think that unlocking a weapon model to facilitate a character concepts was considered an exploit worth patching, but apparently Cryptic thinks it is.

    Oh well..
