Burnside Ghost Costume Unlocks

I spent a couple hours today farming burnside ghosts. 5000 of these can be killed in 2-3 hours doing laps around the public quest area.

The cape and hat shown here are unlocked at 1000 (wrangler perk) and 5000 (caballero perk) kills respectively. The apocalypse bronze belt is shown as well for those that haven't seen it. The hat is probably the most unique costume piece in the game, unfortunately nothing else in-game matches it...

It's too bad that you have to step on the folks leveling up here to farm those kills. I may try this later, but I'll be inviting a group of people in while I stomp everything just so they can get the mission kills.

lmao, it would look so much better if it came with the whole ghostly armor and skin.

Yeah, I felt a bit guilty roaming around clearing mobs to get the 1000 kills while other people were trying to level. Did my best to keep out of their way but it's not easy. Don't really have the patience for 5000 :(

The trick is to stand right on top of one of those purple bubbling cloudy things on the ground. They will continue to spawn 2-3 at a time while you stand there. They're villans but you can get a bunch of hits on them as they're coming out of the ground so it's not too hard. Do this with munitions bots or a strong AoE build and it shouldn't take you too terribly long. Oh, and you'll learn where not to do this to avoid getting smacked by Grond if he should decide to interrupt your party :)

As long as you stick to the public quest area with the hangmen you shouldn't be interrupting anyone's questing. There is enough henchman ghosts in this one spot that you should have a tough time killing them faster than they respawn.

At least the hat looks sorta cool I spent three days grinding 5k demons for wings only to find out they look like ****.

There is no excuse for there not to be item previews especially for something players are supposed to devote a ton of time to in order to obtain.

Personally I'm going to try and get the 5000 Qular perk when I get home, only I'm going to try and do it without leaving the tutorial. See how long it takes me to get entirely bored with the effort and what level I am by the end of it.
