Question about spending "insight" on rifle choice?

I posted this in the weapon replacement thread, but I have to leave for work soon and I'm hoping to get an answer to craft before I go..I apologize in advance for double posting.
Ok, awesome weapon pic thread. I use it as referance every time I want to change my guns. Kudos to all you contributors.
2 Question.
Just got my first insight and I trying to decide between the GEM rifle, or Gadroon Assault rifle...
1) I know which pic is the GEM, but which pic represents the Gadroon Assault rifle?
2) In terms of actual gameplay PVE/PvP which rifle is better? (I ask because in game sta info is unreliable at best)??
