The high end tier IV blueprints have a pretty large buy in. 10 gold and 3 great insight to be exact.

What makes them worth it?

    if you think thats bad you should see the mat cost. The answer is unfortunately, not a lot, most of the pieces are pretty bad,

    Do you get to enhance them? Because the stats do not seem worth it.

    You can enhance them with additional mods and upgrade the quality of crafted gear(raising the mod values), giving huge bonues to some stats. You can have 50(!) of one stat with 15/15 defenses at only level 30. Compared to the random 15-20 stat junk you find or get from misisons that is some epic stat mods for those looking to max superstats.

    They are most def worth it for any build...from energy % resistance mods to +%max hp mods you can tailor gear for multiple roles to make specific things that you may not be able to find the "normal" way in game.

    Don't forget that %max mods scale impressively as you get higher level...that cheap mojo %5 max hp enhancement might only add 50hp at a low level, but the same gear is hundreds of hp at 40...

    I agree.

    Well, sheer value-wise, they DO give more stats than most anything else in the game.

    But, uh, it's only really good for jack-of-all-trade types... UNITY and Nemesis rewards are almost universally more useful if you have a passive to stack attributes on.

    @Puck
    Er, you seem to be confused.

    Custom upgrades stop at level 38 and blue quality. That's the highest they go.

    What the OP is talking about are the endgame crafting recipes, the ones that are purple-quality. They're static and cannot be modified in any way, as they are not custom upgrades.

    Indeed, the blueprints are expensive and the items have strange and often useless stat distributions.

    The costume unlocks if you want those.

    Of course, 78 Questionite for a costume piece could be said to be a bit too costly.
