Dropping an item?

Couldn't find mention of this in search.

How do I drop an item once picked up? I thought in beta I could double click it and throw it, but now it doesn't seem to do anything other than unselect my target.

I really don't like having to go bash the lightpost against stuff until it breaks.

    I just hit 'Z' and it throws it away if you don't have a target.

    I do this by dragging out of my bag to "the ground" (open area with no choices)

    Thought they would have had a button for it, they sure have enough options to choose form when making thema ll 'smash'.
