Could someone please clearly explain custom crafting

I've been hearing about custom crafting and how you can add the stats you want to your equipment. So, lets say for example if I want 50 ego on everything in all three of my offense slots, 50 dex on everything in my defense slots and 50 endurance on everything in my utility slots, I can do that? Or am I mistaken?

As you level you can buy enhancements, and patterns that do not have any inherent stats, but take enhancements in major/minor slots for primary upgrades and minor slots for secondary upgrades. Each enhancement has different effects, for example the colossal enhancement for arms gives an item strength, while the strengthend enhancement gives con, others may give +crit severity or +equlibrium except those aren't functional right now. Once you have selected the enhancements for an item you can increase its quality, which will affect how much of the desired stat is on an item but also increase its material cost.

Yes. This is a bit buggy, however, right now - the intended functionality is that certain stats can only be added to certain slots (like some enhancements are only for utilities, some for offense, etc.). Currently, you can add any enhancement to any slot.

This is supposedly being fixed soon. Anti also told me that it's not a problem that people can craft items with unintended stats (i.e. primary offense focused on +INT) because there is a hard cap on the effectiveness of stats. However, I haven't been able to find anything about this hard cap - I certainly haven't noticed it in-game, and if there's supposed to be a cap I don't think it's actually implemented. I shot him a PM so I'm hoping to get some clarification on this soon.

Indeed - I have about 310 INT and it seems to still be increasing my damage (superstat bonus), lowering my recharge times, and lowering my energy costs.

EDIT: Just went in-game and tested it out. Switching between gear that gave me 301 INT and 308 INT, all of the stats that I expected to change did change. Gained about 7 damage in the tooltip of one of my powers.
