You don't have to only use equipment you crafted with that single character. If you want some extra con you can use loot, and items traded with other crafters, or indeed your alts.
Mystic gear isn't going to be the best choice of craft for every character. If you want ego, intelligence, or presence, it's the right stuff for the job.
I would also argue that not every build does in fact need much Con, but that's a discussion for another forum.
don't get me wrong, having more health is always a plus, but in offensive stance, you get 50% nerf to health bonus from CON... which makes it a bad choice for any character built around an offensive stance. Out of 5 characters, I have 3 which do not have CON, a DEX/EGO ranged dps munitions, a PRE/EGO mixed paranormal support character, and a END/REC ranged dps electric character. I do have 2 which are STR/CON though.
Incidentally, I have at no point felt that any of the nerfs were very severe or game breaking... perhaps it's just that I haven't put all my focus into tunnel vision with a single gameplay tactic.
I do agree that some crafting schools seem much more useful than others. Arms seems to have the most to offer to the largest number of players.
If crafted Mysticism items has no CON, what good is it if every build needs CON? Am I missing something?
Whoever told you CON is necessary for every build is a lying liar. They're lying so hard I needed a redundant phrase to illustrate it correctly.
CON is great for a lot of builds, namely those that use a passive that scales with CON. But aside from that it's far from necessary, although it is often a good tertiary stat.
