For Arms research and development skill the gathering icon doesn't really stand out it's just a plain old brown box. I haven't tried Myst but science is a bright green vial that really stands out on your mini map.
Petty/minor issue I know, but would be nice if got changed to something more noticeable sometime in the future. As to what it could be maybe a revolver? Or a silver arms container.
