Can't use unlocked uniform pieces

Most likely it's me who's being a moron, but I can't seem to add my unlocked stuff to my uniform using the tailor function.

Through quests and equipment I have unlocked a bunch of stuff, that I really would like to use, but for some reason, I can't. It won't even let me click on them. The only thing I can use, is the gadget backpack I had from the start.

I would especially like to be able to use the cape, seeing as I am a superhero :). It is a basic cape that I think everyone gets through a quest.

Can anyone help me. What should I do to use these things with my uniform.

    Try one of the tabs that show up, that has all your unlocked stuff in it, then double click on the one you want to use, if it doesn't work, it should at least say WHERE you can find it.

    Capes will not work if you have any chest overlay pieces (Jackets, Chest Armor, Integrated Shoulders, etc.)

    Greyed out options mean you are in the wrong type of setting for that item to be worn, it will tell you what you need to be in to use the item.
